Over the past month and a half
the Centre has kept busy with
programs, fundraisers and special
events.
Guest speakers from National
Trust, Town & Country Home
makers and the Canadian Mental
Health Association each gave
presentations which prompted good
questions and discussions.
Everyone enjoyed a “Romancing
the Violin”. The Kitchener-
Waterloo Symphony sponsored this
free matinee performance for
seniors. On Saturday, May 23, the
Centre hosted a garage sale.
The Centre participated in
Canada's Fitweek on Wed., May
27. Spacetrek 2000 is a special
division of Fitweek for Canadians
55 years of age and over. Sixty-six
people took part in a 20-minute
walk and then relaxed in Cruick-
shank Park. Special thanks to
Donald Dunbar from Ethel, who
played the bagpipes in the
procession; the Mayor of
Wingham, Ian Mooreland; Anna
Johnstone, Lucknow for carrying
the Spacetrek 200 banner; Tom
Smith, Wingham for hoisting the
town's flag and Gord's Old Tyme
Band for providing entertainment
in the park.
