THE EDITOR,
On behalf of the Canadian
Cancer Society, I would like to
thank all of the volunteer
canvassers in the Brussels ana
surrounding area for doing such a
good job in the Cancer Campaign.
To date $3,059.03 has been
collected by the 26 volunteers
listed in an April issue of The
Citizen. To this list of volunteers I
would like to add Lynne and Tom
Cronin, and the Presbyterian
Young People who helped Kathy
Bridge with selling daffodils. The
daffodil receipts amounted to
$275.50. A special thank you to
you all.
A special thanks also to all
residents and organizations for
contributing so generously. We
appreciate your continued support
year after year.

THE EDITOR,
I would like to express my
appreciation to Liz Stryker for
writing a letter to the editor June 3,
1992.
After reading The Citizen, from
cover to cover, as I too, usually do,
I have many times been irked by
the letters from Doug Trollope. I
have told myself that I should do
something about it and write a
letter to the editor myself. I never
did it.
Hence, I applaud Liz Stryker for
her eloquence.
However, as I have read Mr.
Trollope's letters in more than one
newspaper and recall his length
attempts to express his beliefs, I
have come to realize - and to
witness - through other people's
attempts to respond, that is a
difficult task to accomplish.
Mr. Trollope continues, as we
saw last week, in his response to
Liz Stryker's letter, to tear apart the
thoughts and beliefs of others.
In my opinion, we Christians, as
a whole are a content lot of people
who experience happiness, joy and
hopefulness, all of which are only
a few emotions accepted and
promoted by the church. Perhaps
those with doubts about
Christianity should go to church
some Sunday and they too, could
experience the joy, happiness and
thankfulness that I experience
every Sunday when I attend church.
THE CITIZEN. WEDNESDAY. JUNE 17.1992. PAGE 21.
It revives me, makes me feel good,
and I am sorry that there are people
unable to experience the wondrous
feeling.
To Liz Stryker, I have wanted to
try and respond to his attacks on
Christianity but felt it was an effort
