GRADE FIVE/SIX CLASS
Kindergarten
The Kindergartens have been
doing different crafts made of
many different things. They have
been working on songs and poems
along with making kites.
Butterflies, made out of tissue
paper, are now decorating their
classroom.
Grade One
Mrs. Brydges' grade one class
was sharing with each other when
we stopped in to collect the news.
Matthew Cowan had two baby
ducks called Fido and Dido! Paul
Gamiss had brought in BIG snails
and Tony Dillon had a very
interesting moth to show the class.
The students were busy asking
questions.
Grade Two
Mrs. Dodds’ grade two class
thought their trip to the African
Lion Safari was “Awesome”
despite the tiny bit of rain that fell.
Their favourite parts were the
monkeys, the large male lion, the
souvenir store called the “Jungle
Junction”, the rhinos, and the
performing parrots. Paul Walker
liked when Jimmy Wray got
soaking wet running through the
water playground. The elephant
show was popular and a favourite
with most of the class.
Mrs. Hessels' grade two class is
busy doing some fun activities.
They are making Dogs. They are
also making pictures of themselves
in the summertime. For Author's
Day, each of the grade twos made a
book entitled Boss for a Week.
The grade two class would like to
wish Travis Hopper a very happy
belated birthday (June 5). Many
happy returns Travis.

African Lion Safari on Friday,
June 5. They saw a “Birds of Prey”
demonstration along with parrot
and animal shows. They thought
that the tour was fascinating.
Janelie Anderson liked when the
monkeys jumped around. Jason
Fear thought it was “a really fun
day”. Myron Hussey liked the bus
tour the best.
The grade threes enjoyed the
Author's Day we had at our school

went camping at Mr. Fisher's place
on Thursday and Friday, June 11
and 12.
GRADE FIVE
Mr. Kerr's grade five class
enjoyed their trip to the Children's
Festival in Victoria Park in
London, Ontario. Mrs. Sinclair's
group liked making paper, while
Mrs. Brenda Stein's group and Mr.
Matthew Hussey's group enjoyed
the pirate magic show. Mrs. Chris
Beck's group enjoyed the pirate
magic show. Mrs. Chris Beck's
group enjoyed the massive paper
mache dinosaurs but Mr. John
Kerr's group argued that the
performance by the Easy T's Music
Production was the best.
The grade fives went to see The
Sound of Music at Huron Country
Playhouse on Friday, June 12 and
have been learning about the
VanTrapp family whose life
experiences inspired the musical.
They found the musical's storyline

GRADE FIVE/SIX
Sales of pop, chips and donuts
have raised most of the money to
cover the year-end trip to the
Toronto Metro Zoo on Friday, June
17. Students hope to raise just a bit
more money next week.
They want to wish Matthew
Hussey, a grade 12 Co-op student
from F.E. Madill Secondary
School, a great summer and a well
deserved holiday. He has worked
very hard and has helped our
school work when it was needed.
Everyone enjoyed the days he came
to assist. Thanks a lot Matthew.
Good Luck.
Grade Seven
Mrs. Gross' grade seven class
went to see The Sound of Music at
Huron Country Playhouse and
played mini golf at Grand Bend
while they were there.
Mrs. Daer arranged for Constable
John Marshall, Larry Gowing and
Martin Cretier to come to speak to
the class about their experiences
and involvement with drugs and
alcohol as a wrap-up of the Quest
Program for this year. The students
had many questions answered
about their concerns about drugs
and alcohol and would like to thank
the gentlemen before giving up an
afternoon.
Grade Eight
Mr. Bartlett's grade eight class
has completed translations and
reflections and are working on
rotations in Geometry. In English,
they are concentrating on pronoun
usage and mechanics.
