Majestic WI tours the Pinery at Grand Bend
The regular monthly meeting of
the Majestic Women's Institute was
a car tour to several places of
interest. Twelve ladies left the
Brussels library at 9:15 a.m.
arriving at the Pinery about 10:30.
The tour guide took them to the
new theatre where they saw
approximately 200 slides in 10
minutes of the different things that
are there and what goes on. This is
done to computer music.
The guide told them of the Oak
Savanna Forest and how they are
preparing for their 1993
Centennial. There are 6200 acres in
the Pinery. After a tour of the
pinery, lunch was had at the beach.
Following this Ruth Bauer, vice
president was in charge of a short
meeting. Tickets are to be made for
the quilt draw for FunFest. Also a
bake sale is being planned for the
same weekend. Leona Armstrong
sent a note asking the W.I. ladies to
her daughter Leanne's graduation
Come and Go Tea on June 23. A
letter was sent to the Institute on
the fall course “Decor Accents”.
Training school will be held in
Walton October 24. They need two
leaders and anyone wishing to take
the course should contact Jean
Fraser by August 31.
The meeting closed and it was on
to the Lambton Heritage Museum
where they found them in the
middle of moving so their displays
were all together.
Then it was on to Rock Glen
Farms at Arkona where they had a
car tour of the farm, then saw the
falls and visited the store.
Following this they had supper at
a restaurant and then returned
home. Next regular meeting will be
held in September.
