Livestock Report Cattle prices lower Study evaluates servicing Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending June 5 were: finished cattle, 910; cows, 254; veal calves, 213; lambs and goats, 87; stockers, 700; pigs, 220. The trade at Brussels Livestock was $1 - $2 lower with premium cattle holding steady. Cows were $1 lower. There were 598 steers on offer selling from $78 to $90.80 to the high of $115. Five steers consigned by Ken Schaus, Elmwood averaging 1064 lbs. sold for an average of $100.86 to the high of $115 purchased by DenDekker Meats and Poultry. Nine steers consigned by John Barbour, Orangeville averaging 1325 lbs. sold for an average of $99.66 to the high of $107 purchased by Norwich Packers. Eleven steers consigned by Lloyd Whitley, Creemore, averaging 1258 lbs. sold for an average of $91.50 to the high of $105. Three steers consigned by Scott Geisel, West Montrose, averaging 1373 lbs. sold for an average of $91.85 to the high of $97.75. Sixty- three steers consigned by W. B. Pletch Co. Planners involved in the study are Dr. Wayne Caldwell and Carol Leeming, along with student planners, Karen Montgomery and Joy Mabon, whose work is funded by The Environmental Youth Corps. The RSS staff is working in association~with a Technical Advisory Committee with representatives from: The Huron County Health Unit, The Ministry of the Environment, The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority and two municipal representatives as appointed by the County Clerks and Treasurers Association. The purpose of the study is to evaluate rural servicing (water and sewage) within Huron County. Several major issues related to land use and development for both new and existing development will be studied. Justification for the study lies with the apparent relationship between septic systems and ST.
