Here on their second call Tuesday afternoon, they battle a grass fire that got out of hand southeast of Blyth, south of county road 25. Blyth firemen have busy week It was a busy week for members of Blyth's volunteer Fire Depart­ ment as they were called out to four fires, two on the same day. The first fire started in a bam on the farm of Hank Pardys on County Road 25, just west of Blyth during the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2. According to Deputy Chief Bill Burkholder the cause of the blaze is undetermined. Though there was extensive damage to the building no livestock was lost. About one hour later firefighters were called to a hay fire at the property of Dick Snell, south of Blyth. At 3:30 a.m., Friday, a tree at the Four Seasons Campground in Auburn started on fire. On Saturday afternoon a fire at the East Wawanosh landfill site spread into the household garbage. The blaze needed to be extin­ guished quickly as the Ministry of the Environment does not permit the burning of this type of waste, said Deputy Chief Burkholder. Also, there were trees nearby that were in danger of catching fire. It is never too soon to accept Christ as Saviour. Whenever God speaks to us is the time for us to listen. It is never too soon to be sanctified. To be sanctified is to be at God's disposal. Our one goal should be to glorify God. It is never too soon to be a soul winner. Have you succeeded in leading someone to Christ? It is never too soon to build bridges to others. Auburn Missionary Church anniversary is Sunday, June 28. Special speaker is Rev. Grant Sloss of Kitchener, former district superintendent of the Canada East Missionary Churches. The Junior Choir sang two selections “Jesus Loves Me” and “We're Going To Have A Party” under the direction of Shelley Grange and Karen Webster. This was followed by a hymn-sing. “I Feel The Winds of God Today”. Rev. Ross read the scriptures after which the congregation sang “In Thy Pentecostal Splendour”. Rev. Ross delivered his sermon called “Catching Fire”, then gave the Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession. The offering was received by Lawrence Plaetzer and Peter Verbeek and dedicated. The closing hymn “Lead Us Heavenly Father” was sung. Maurice Bean pronounced the Benediction and response “To God The Father” concluded the service. A reminder from your your ’’Chimney Dentist”...
