afternoon, they battle a grass fire that got out of hand southeast of Blyth, south of county road

Blyth firemen have busy week
It was a busy week for members
of Blyth's volunteer Fire Depart
ment as they were called out to four
fires, two on the same day.
The first fire started in a bam on
the farm of Hank Pardys on County
Road 25, just west of Blyth during
the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2.
According to Deputy Chief Bill
Burkholder the cause of the blaze is
undetermined. Though there was
extensive damage to the building
no livestock was lost.
About one hour later firefighters
were called to a hay fire at the
property of Dick Snell, south of
Blyth.
At 3:30 a.m., Friday, a tree at the
Four Seasons Campground in
Auburn started on fire. Deputy
Chief Burkholder said the cause
was electrical. Only the tree fell

victim to the blaze, he said, though
if it had progressed further there
would have been greater problems
due to the four hydro wires hooked
to it.
On Saturday afternoon a fire at
the East Wawanosh landfill site
spread into the household garbage.
The blaze needed to be extin
guished quickly as the Ministry of
the Environment does not permit
the burning of this type of waste,
said Deputy Chief Burkholder.
Also, there were trees nearby that
were in danger of catching fire.

Pastor Carne's message was
entitled, A Matter of Time, with
scripture from Matt. 24: 36-44. We
can be in good health but it is just a
matter of time. In II Cor. 6: 2 now
is the day of salvation - now is the
time of God's favour. The scripture
reveals the passing of time and
timing. Noah preached 50 years
and nothing changed except the
building of the ark. Noah gave one

last plea and then the door was
shut. It is never too soon to accept
Christ as Saviour. Whenever God
speaks to us is the time for us to
listen. It is never too soon to be
sanctified. To be sanctified is to be
at God's disposal. Our one goal
should be to glorify God. It is never
too soon to be a soul winner. Have
you succeeded in leading someone
to Christ? It is never too soon to
build bridges to others.
