OMAF advises seed testing Due to the effects of last year's adverse growing conditions which may have affected the quality of this year's soybean seed, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food (OMAF) is advising soybean producers to cold germ test their seeds and consider increasing their seeding rates. According to OMAF the test will provide producers with the percent age of seeds that will germinate. The growers can then adjust their seeding rate proportionally so that crop stands will not be affected by uneven germination. Crop losses are covered under crop insurance only when they result from natural causes beyond the farmers' control, OMAF says, such as excess rain and drought. Under the program, producers are expected to follow recommended procedures. IbrusselsI I FUNFEST | I Duck Race, Bath ■ Tub Races and a I whole lot of fun I | JULY 3, 4, 5|
