Mr. and Mrs. John McIntosh greeted members on arrival. Invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hall and their two daughters of RR 1, Wing­ ham. Violinist Murray accompa­ nied on the piano by Mary, delighted the congregation with four presentations which included: “How Great Thou Art”, “In a Monastery Garden”, “Whispering Hope”, and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Mrs. George Johnston presided at the organ for a prelude of favourite sacred numbers. She also accompa­ nied the singing of the hymns. Rev. Peter Tucker used scripture relating the denial of Jesus by St. Peter and St. Paul's conversion to convey his message; “More than one Way”. A colourful hydrangea added beauty to the sanctuary. Offertory stewards were: Jayne Vincent, Grace Carmichael, John Nixon and Ross Higgins. Twelve tables in euchre action Twelve tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall, Belgrave, Wednes­ day, April 29. Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Stuart Chamney; low lady, Mrs. Agnes Gaunt; most lone hands, lady, Mrs. Robert Grasby; second high lady, Mrs. Gamer Nicholson; most euchres, lady, Mrs. Marie Merkley; high man, Mrs. Edythe Coultes (playing as a man); low man, Mrs. Laura Johnston (playing as a man); most lone hands, man, Ross Taylor; second high man, Garner Nicholson and most euchres, man, Stanley Black. There will be euchre again Wednesday, May 6 starting at 8 p.m. Grasbys return from trip to Myrtle Beach Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Yuill spent last weekend at the home of her son and daughter-in-law and family Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Elliott of Arkona. Other family relatives visiting at the same home were: Dr. and Mrs. John Lichtenberger and family of St. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Elliott and Kaylee, Tavistock. The occasion was Bruce and Lenore Elliott's 40th birthdays. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby, who accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch of Waterdown have recently returned home after an enjoyable 10 day motor trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby, Saturday, May 2. Mrs. Olive Campbell is a patient in the Wingham and District Hospi­ tal. This community extends sincere sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Alan McBumey in the loss of her dear mother Mrs. Tom Stokes of Wing­ ham.
