Six tables in play at Blyth lost heir There were six tables in play al the Blyth lost heir party on April 29. The results were: high lady, Elsie Walsh; high man, Bert Daer; low lady, Effie McCall; low man, Har­ vey Sillib and special, Lloyd Walden. This finishes lost heir for the sea­ son. The balloons contained a promotional pamphlet about the festival and the student's address. The Rutabaga Festival will be held June 26-28. ‘Mom untfi Love-\ Christmas and Country wins display award Christmas and Country in Blyth walked away with a trophy for the best display booth at the Goderich Home and Garden Show. Their display was picked above 80 other booths which made up the annual show this past weekend. Ramirez opened the service with call to worship, followed by the singing of “When Morning Gilds the Skies”. The responsive reading was Psalm 31, with scrip­ ture from John 21: 1-17. The con­ gregation then sung “Christ of All My Hopes”. “Guide Me Dear Saviour” was beautifully sung by the choir, accompanied by Phyllis Boak. Rev. Ramirez story to the chil­ dren was on Mother's Day which is next Sunday. He suggested several nice things they can do for their mother. The mid-week groups, with their leader, then presented their offering to missions. Rev. Ramirez' sermon was on “Imported Commitments” and how Blyth euchre Blyth hosted its weekly euchre on April 20 with 14 tables in play. Winners were: high lady, Dorothy Daer; high man, Harvey Dolmage; low lady, Feme Howatt; low man, Ted Fothergill; ladies' lone hands, Lou Isaac; men's lone hands, Don Haines and special, Alice Boyce. There were 13 tables at euchre on April 27. Winners were: high lady, Mary Robertson; high man, Lloyd Apple­ by; low lady, Iona McLean; low man, Ernie Brown; ladies' lone hands, Kay Hesselwood; men's lone hands, Ted Fothergill and spe­ cial, Clara Rinn and June Fothergill. vey. But show co-ordinator Doug Blacker knew they had a chance. "Their display was very well put together," he said. The display included wicker set­ tee sets, rocking chairs, wall hang­ ings and wreaths along with mats, afghans and, of course, a Christmas tree. This is the third time Mrs. Snell has taken part in the Goderich Home and Garden Show. The show is put on by the Goderich Figure Skating Associa­ tion and the proceeds are used to off-set the club's ice-renting costs.
