They competed against the top couples from each classroom which were chosen after all students participated in dance workshops taught by Mary Lynn Telford. Laura Lyon wins Cheerio draw The April meeting of the Cheerio Club was held at the home of Mar­ garet Good on Wednesday after­ noon, April 15 at 2 p.m. Margaret welcomed everyone. She opened with a poem, “Months of the Year”. Roll call was answered by eight members The news from thel and one visitor. The minutes of the March meeting were read and the financial report was given. Mar­ garet read a poem. Collection and draw money were taken up. The draw donated by June Fothergill was won by Laura Lyon. The next meeting will be Group Three at the home of Clara Riley. Cards were played after which lunch was served by Margaret and June. Shirley Lyon returns home after surgery Easter Sunday visitors with Flo­ rence Cartwright were Bruce Scott, and his adopted son and wife, Jacob and Tina Paskow, of Toron­ to; Mae Rinn, Lois Rinn and Mr. Gordon Rinn of Belgrave; and Claude Cartwright of London. Friends and neighbours of Mrs. Shirley Lyon will be glad to know she has returned home from St. Joseph's Hospital, London after surgery. The best wishes of the community are extended to her for a speedy recovery. United Church youth group to go swimming Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, April 19 were Reg and Helen Lawson. Ushers were Darlene Vincent, Karen Popp, Traci Radford and Cheryl Tre­ wartha. The choir sang two anthems, “No Greater Love - Majesty” and “The Saviour is Risen Today”. The ser­ mon topic was “How I Know The Resurrection is True”. Bible Study is on Tuesday, April 21 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the home of Marjorie McDougall, Auburn. Senior Youth Group will meet Thursday, April 23 at 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. for swimming at Vanastra pool and pizza after. Bring $2.50 for pool admission and money for food. Huron-Perth Youth Council is sponsoring a trip to Wonderland on June 20. The cost is $29.00 for the day members of the Senior Youth Group, members who want to go must register soon. Talk to Paul. Scripture Lesson for next week is Acts 5: 27-32, Revelations 1:4-8, John 20: 19-31. Ushers next Sunday are Pam and Michael Salverda, Kerri Szusz and Kara Lee Potter. U.C.W. members have an invita­ tion from Auburn U.C.W. to attend their 30th anniversary meeting Tuesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. in Knox United Church. Seventeen eager faces showed up and started the meeting off with the 4-H pledge. Next came the nominations for the executive. The results were as follows: President, Wanda Martin, Ann Uhler, Vice President; Julie Terpstra, Secretary; Amy Terpstra, Treasurer; and Press Reporter, Christa Knorr. The meeting was then spent fill­ ing out forms and tackling the busi­ ness end of the club. The creation of the “terrarium” (a glass contain­ er full of plants that will grow under the same conditions) was next, followed by a snack made by one of the members. The meeting closed with the 4-H motto: “Learn to do by Doing”. Everyone left for home wondering what surprises would be in store at the next meeting.
