Brussels Mennonites celebrate Easter Easter weekend proved a busy one at Brussels Mennonite Fellow ship. The Venture Club met Thurs day evening and enjoyed an evening based on the Easter theme. On Saturday morning about 175 guests gathered for the wedding of Ratsomy Larprom and Vong Frichilthavong. Special music was provided at the service by the bride's sister, Suvany and Manivan Larprom. A noon meal followed in the Church Fellowship Hall. On Easter Sunday, the Youth Group hosted a breakfast and a sun rise service at 7:30 p.m. Lyall Winger was worship leader for the service. The youth put on a skit and Alice Marlin's Sunday School class (grade three) recited the Easter Story from the scriptures in unison. Rob Demaray had a story for the children. Pastor Tom Warner gave a mean ingful sermon at the regular 9:30 service, following the Easter theme. Margaret MacLeod sang a solo accompanied by Alice Brothers on the piano. Lena Siegers led the con gregational singing. On Tuesday evening, April 21, Esther Epp-Thiesson of MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) spoke to the ladies at their monthly meeting. She discussed what MCC is doing for Women's concerns and talked also about abuse. On Saturday, April 25, the Youth will hold a “Get Your Bikes Fixed” session at the Church. If your bike Brussels requires minor repairs, bring it to the Church Saturday 10:00 - 3:00 and the Youth will see what they can do. This is a free service. Gary Martin leaves later this month for a three month stay in Guadeloup, Haiti, where he will be learning more about the culture and learning some of the language of that area. Work began on the production in September with the taping of the black tie affair at Mohawk College theatre on April 10. Mr. Yuill set up base in a $3.5 million mobile unit outside the the atre. The show, which was attended by his father, Jim, brother Gary, aunt and uncle Jaunita and Doug Dale, girlfriend Michelle Riley of Teeswater and Gary's girlfriend Natasha Muschied of Wingham, went smoothly, he said. "One of mv teachers said it was the best one yet in the show's 13 year history." Now with such an accomplish ment behind him Mr Yuill is plan ning his future.
