The theme, “Pass it on”, was organized by the Federated Wom­ en's Institutes of Ontario. The after­ noon fashion show was put on by Huron-East and North Perth. Peggy Kipfer was the speaker on fashion and accessories. More fashion show followed by Perth Centre. There were many scarves and jew­ ellery pieces on display that were made during the two night course. Lunch was supplied. The leaders from Walton were Yvonne Cronyn and Mary Bernard. There were nine ladies from the surrounding area who participated in the course. Those attending the summary day Saturday afternoon were Berva Watson, Heidi McClure, Valorie Shortreed, Marie Stutz and Marjorie Humphries. People attend anniversary Ray and Margery Huether, Seaforth and Allan and Alice Sear­ le, Walton were in Royal Oak, Michigan on the weekend where they celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of Gordon and Mary (Huether) Sanders on Saturday, April 11. Congratulations to Gor­ don and Mary from friends in the area. Congratulations as well to Steven and Kathy Huether on the arrival of their baby boy, bom in Toronto on Wednesday, April 8. WI plans luncheon The Walton Women's Institute have planned for the noon luncheon for Wednesday, April 15. That same day Institute members are requested to meet at the hall at 6 p.m. for a mystery supper, after which they will return to the hall for the annual meeting. New pastor speaks at Duffs service Palm Sunday at the Walton Blue­ vale Pastoral Charge worship ser­ vice was led by Bruce Whitmore. His message was Palms and Poli­ tics. Walton announcements were Junior Choir Practice at 4:15 and Senior Group to practice at 7:30. The U.C.W. will have a booth at the local farm sale this Saturday. Any donations will be welcome. For more information get in touch with Karen Hoegy or Phyllis Mitchell. The spring bale articles are to be left in the basement of the church no later than May 10. Next Sunday's Easter service will be led by Don Vair at 11:30 in Walton. Bluevale will serve break­ fast with service at 10 a.m. On Sunday, April 29 the Walton- Bluevale Pastoral charges will be back on regular time. Services will be taken by the Rev. Randy Banks, the new minister from Manitoba, who has accepted a call to these two charges. He and his family will be moving here in June, to start his charge in July. Friends and neighbours gathered in the Ethel United Church to host a bridal shower for Charlene Clarke on Wednesday evening. Fifty-seven ladies attended the Mennonites enjoy time of fellowship Pastor Tom Warner preached from Isaiah 52, on the topic of prayer. Prayer partners were again selected during the service. Mervin Lichty led the congregational singing. After a fellowship meal in the gymnasium at noon the congre­ gation met again in the chapel for a session of prayer. Several committee meetings were held throughout the week. About 30 grades three to six children gath­ ered at the Church on Thursday evening for the weekly Venture Club meeting. The theme of the Venture Club this week was, “Learning about Disabilities.” They watched a video called, “Jesus' Bicycle” and had games related to disabilities as well as the learning sessions. A discussion and prayer session, “The Upper Room” is held for adults on Thursday evening, simultaneously with the Venture Club for any interested adults. Next Saturday, April 18 the mar­ riage of Ratsamy Larprom and Vongmany Frichilthavong will take place at the Church. Wardrobe Wizardry Summary Day Fashion Show held in the Trinity United Church, Listowel, on Satur­ day afternoon. The ladies taking the course were given the chance to wear and display either the silk scarf or earrings which they had made. Peggy Kipfer from Peggy K Fashions, Milverton was the guest speaker. She showed how to acces­ sorize an ordinary outfit and change its appearance with just a few additions of either a belt, neck­ lace or scarf. Helen Dobson, Myrle Bowes, Doris Jacklin, Thelma Keffer and Margaret McMahon attended the pot luck luncheon of the Majestic Women's Institute on Wednesday and enjoyed their annual meeting. Huron East District is making plans to celebrate its 90th anniver­ sary in June at the Howick Public School and all former members are urged to make plans to attend.
