The Teen Chal­ lenge Farm works with people facing drug and alcohol problems. They have the amazing record of 86 per cent success rate for the peo­ ple, in their care. Two young men shared their experiences. Tom Warner led the worship ser­ vice and Lucy Hess led the congre­ gational singing. On Tuesday evening at the ladies' monthly meeting, Wendy Martin told of her experiences in Central American countries on the mission field. Marg Becker and Eleanor Hemingway were in charge of the meeting. On Thursday evening the Ven- ture Club held the weekly meeting, as did the Adults' Upper Room Group. Next Sunday has been designated as Prayer Sunday. The monthly fel­ lowship meal will also be next Sun­ day after the Christian Education Hour. Easy R.R.S.P. In the front row, left to right, Mark Fischer holds up his most sportsmanlike trophy. Beside him, Tyler Bragg displays his most dedicated trophy while Jason Armstrong shows off his most improved trophy. Other members on the team are (middle, left to right) Al Bragg,Nolan Krotz and coach Stephen Todd. Missing from the picture are Matt Elliott, Josh Gropp, Chris Blake and Tim Harrison. Youth darters play in tournee BY SANDRA JOSLING The Youth darters sponsored by the Brussels Legion had a very suc­ cessful day in Lucknow. Branch 109 hosted the District Youth darts on Sunday, March 29. Winning in the Tyke girls divi­ sion was Lisa Coyne. Anita Little was second. Both girls are from Brussels. In the Tyke Boys Division Joshua Haycock clinched the first place. In the Tyke doubles Joshua and Ernie Haycock Jr. teamed up to take the first place finish. And in the Senior Girls division Deb Richardson was top shooter. Con­ gratulations to all participants. On Sunday, March 29 Margaret Jarvis competed in the Senior Divi­ sion of the Legion District Public Speaking contest. Speeches were heard from the auditorium of the Port Elgin Branch. Margaret, com­ peting for both Branch 218 Brus­ sels and 180 Wingham, had a first place finish. This qualified her for the next level; the Area finals in Aurora on Sunday, April 5. A win here will see her doing to the Provincial finals. The Blind draw mixed darts results are as follows: Lawrence Machan, Ken Rutledge, Dave Adams first; Martha Logan and Gord Jacklin, second; ladies' high shooter, Colleen Martin (100) and men’s high shooter Lawrence Machan (133). Darts are held every Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. Results of Wednesday, April 1 euchre night are as follows: high lady, Deb Cann; high man, Albert Quipp; low lady, Mary Huether; low man, Bill Echmier; most lone hands, ladies, Lois Hart and men's lone hands, Gord Nichol. The most zeros were had by Shirley Hopper and Verna Tunney. The next euchre night is Wednes­ day, April 15 at 7:45 p.m. The next excutive meeting is Monday, April 13 at 8 p.m. This general meeting is Monday, April 20. On Friday, April 24, the branch will be having their monthly Pub Night. Post time is 9:00 p.m. UCW hears story on 'A Gift of a Cross' The March meeting of the Brus­ sels United Church Women was held at the United Church. President Gertie Kellington wel­ comed the ladies and read the open­ ing from the Alert that was given at the St. Marys Executive meeting. Worship was given by Isabele Wheeler and Joyce Jacklin. Lent was the topic and a discussion was held. Prayers were given and a hymn sung. Isabel read a story called, “A Gift of a Cross”. The 30-year Celebration of the U.C.W. will be held on May 24 at 11 a.m. The calendar project for the month of May was discussed. The meeting closed with the U.C.W. Benediction.
