Vicars Hodge has taken over the pastoral charges of Trinity Anglican Church in Belgrave and St. Paul's Anglican Church in Wingham. Rev. Vicars Hodge became the new minister on March 15, of Trinity Anglican Church in Bel­ grave and St. Paul's Anglican in Wingham. Rev. Hodge graduated from high school in Kelowna B.C. Upon com­ pletion of a BA in psychology from Huron College, he began his theol­ ogy studies there and completed them at Wycliffe College receiving a Master's in Divinity in 1990. His clinical pastoral training was done at Oxford Regional Centre for Developmentally Handicapped Adults and interned at St. Andrew's -by-the-Lake Church in Turkey Point. Ordained Deacon in May 1990, he served as assistant curate at St. Stephen's Memorial in London. He was ordained to the priest­ hood in November. Rev. Hodge and his wife Carole have three children Jennifer, bom in 1976, Andrew bom in 1987 and Erin bom in 1990. BelgraveThe news from Compiled by Helen Stonehouse Phone 887-9487 People home from Fla. WI attends Curator meeting Mr. and Mrs. Les Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson have returned home from a thrcc-wcck vacation in Florida. They travelled as far south as Bonita Springs and enjoyed sunny warm weather for most of their trip. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson last week were Anne Catherine Jean, Daniel and Sarah of Goderich and Rob Roy, Christina and Emily of Peterborough. Spending the March break at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Yuill were David Elliott of Arkona, grandson of Mrs. Yuill; Mrs. Linda Lichtenberger, her daughter from St. Thomas and Linda's daughters Pamela and Abby. Maria and Michelle Arruda of Toronto were Sunday visitors with their grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Vincent and Carrie of Milton and Mrs. Sharon Mitchell and Scott of Hanover spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Vincent. Carrie remained to spend the week holidays with her grandpar­ ents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent. Mrs. Joan Westcrhout, Cindy and Kathleen of Granton spent a few days with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bosman. Walden Photography Weddings & Portraits Call Gary Walden 482-7675 The Curator meeting of the Bel­ grave Women's Institute was held at the hall on Tuesday beginning with a community pot luck dinner. Mrs. Dorothy Coultes welcomed everyone and Rev. Peter Tucker said grace. Following the meal Dorothy led a sing-song of Irish songs, accom­ panied by Mrs. Gladys Van Camp at the piano. The chairman of the East Wawanosh's 125th celebration, George Cull, was present to tell of the plans for this event to be held July 2 to 5 and to show the souvenir items for sale. He explained the background of the Indian picture shown on the T-shirts and had an anniversary plate and mug on display. The pic­ ture on the plate “Mortgaging the Farm”, was taken from a painting hanging in the National Gallery in Ottawa, done by George Reid, an East Wawanosh native. Mrs. Agnes McBurney intro­ duced Garner Nicholson who showed slides taken in 1967. Mrs. Ruby Hanna read an Irish poem and Mrs. Alice Nicholson gave a reading. Agnes read some history items of East Wawanosh and Belgrave and conducted a quiz. The program was prepared by Mrs. Ada Taylor who was not able to attend. There were scrapbooks and Tweedsmuir history books on dis­ play. At the business meeting the roll call was answered by a ‘Memory of Centennial Year’. Upcoming meetings are an Exec­ utive meeting to plan the District Annual on April 6 at 7 p.m. The annual conference will be on August 7, 8 and 9 at Thunder Bay. The W.I. will cater to the East Wawanosh Federation of Agricul­ ture dinner in the hall, March 31 at noon, with Leona Black and Dian­ na Robinson as convenors. Taylors mark 45th anniversary The family of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor met at the Belgrave Arena Complex on Sunday, March 15 to help their parents celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed a lovely dinner after which they made use of the different games which the new complex provides. BY MICHELLE FREIBURGER The first meeting of the Belgrave Club Forestry Freaks, was held on March 18 at 1 p.m. at the Freiburg- er's home. The meeting began with the 4H pledge, then the club officers were elected. After, members played a game by filling out sheets that concern other people's hobbies. They read about the differences between plants and trees. Before the meeting ended, each got to plant a flower seed in some soil.
