Sliding by Blyth Minor Ball in danger unless volunteers found Minor ball for youngster in Blyth is again in danger unless volunteer parents come forward to run the program. Councillor Steven Sparling of the Recreation Committee, told coun cillors at the Feb. 25 meeting of Blyth Village Council that the books for Blyth Minor Ball had been delivered to him at his office by members of the former commit tee. These members had tried to resign a year ago but had been per suaded to stay on to keep the pro gram going. Since then more volunteers have still not turned to help. The group has now given up. "It's imperative a volunteer or group of volunteers come forward," Councillor Sparling said. "Only if someone comes forward will there be a ball program." He said it is vital that people realize it's not up to council to provide a ball program for youngsters. Councillor Robbie Lawrie agreed. "If there aren't enough par ents interested then the program can't work," he said. "If the parents aren't interested, it doesn't go." Purchasing a vehicle is a big decision!
