Blyth tied Chatsworth 5-5 in the first game of the tournament as Nathan Loder was chosen the most valuable player. game, Les Stafford of RR1, Ethel, broke the house record at Molesworth Bowl on January 28 by throwing 11 straight strikes. According to Brad Matheson, whose family operates the bowling alley said this is the first time in its history that anyone has come so close to a perfect 450 game. Mr. Stafford, who plays in the Tuesday Men's League, missed the two pin on the comer on his last turn, fin­ ishing with a score of 448. Mr. Matheson said, that had the outcome been different, Mr. Stafford would have received $500 from the local zone and provincial recognition. Now, he gets congratu­ lations and handshakes. Having bowled for 15 years, Mr. Stafford was not disappointed with the end result. "I was relieved that I made the shot I had to, not worried about missing the two pin." In the second game, Blyth swamped Wallaceburg 11-2. Jason Rutledge was the most valuable player. Brian Marks was the most valuable player as Blyth defeated Tiverton 7-2 in the third game and Chris Stewart was most valuable player as Blyth defeated Tara 7-2 in game four. In the tournament's final game, Blyth shut-out Acton 2-0 with Brad Anderson being named the most valuable player. Ronnie Abell-Rinn had the shut out. Brian Marks, Ben Craig, Michael Salverda and Chris Stew­ art scored hat tricks during the tour­ nament. Michael Salverda and Chris Stewart were named tourna­ ment all-stars.
