15 tables in play at weekly
Belgrave euchre party
Fifteen tables were in play to
start the weekly euchre which was
held in the W.I. Hall, Belgrave
January 8.
Winners were: high lady, Mrs.
Irene Smyth; second high lady,
Mrs. Bert Johnston; most lone
hands, lady, Mrs. Clarence Hanna;
low lady, Mrs. Kay McCormick;
high man, Mrs. George Michie,
(playing as a man); second high
man, George Michie; most lone
hands, man, Mrs. Nellie Clark; low
man, Lewis Stonehouse.
There will be euchre again
Wednesday, January 15 starting at
8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Holidays brings Belgrave
families back together

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby and
Mrs. Laura Johnston spent New
Year's Day with Mr. and Mrs.
George Johnston, Tara and Erin of
Ilderton. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch
of Waterdown also visited at the
same home.
Barbara Coultes of Toronto spent
a couple of days during the
holidays with her mother Mrs.
Janisa Coultes.
Miss Carrie Vincent of Milton
returned home on Sunday, January
5 with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Wayne Vincent after a week's
holidays with her grandparents Mr.
and Mrs. Leslie Vincent.
Miss Michelle Arruda of Toronto
is spending some holidays with her
aunt Mrs. Dorothy Logan.
Mrs. Mary Warwick and Mrs.
Doris Hicks of Blyth visited with
Mrs. Laura Johnston.
A pot luck dinner was sponsored
by the Belgrave Seniors Commun
ity Club on Thursday, January 9 in
the Belgrave Community Centre.
Following the dinner 56 people
enjoyed a variety of games.
The Campbell family held a
Christmas get-together in the W.I.
Hall, Belgrave, December 29 with
55 attending.
A pot luck meal was enjoyed and
then clog dances performed by
Nancy and Harold Jardin, Marie
and Gary Black and Vic Buchanan.
A birthday cake was presented to
Olive Campbell in honour of her
upcoming 85th birthday on January
20.
K huge crowd turned out to visit with Murray Elston, Bruce MPP and a nominee in the race for
the provincial Liberal leadership, during his visit at the Belgrave Arena on Friday, January 10.
Mr. Elston addressed the group briefly, after which he took the opportunity to talk briefly with
some of those present. Here he discusses ideas with Ron Latham of Londesboro and Helen
Craig of RR1, Walton.
