Blyth P.S. news HULLETT BAND VISITS by Skye Lantinga On Thursday, December 19 the Hullett Public School Band came to Blyth Public School to entertain the students. The students of grade 6, 7, and 8 from Hullett played five songs including a Christmas med ley. After the band had played, about half of the choir sang five songs. We were invited to join in one of them. Mrs. Wyatt conducted the band and choir. Andrea Postma, Jennifer Szusz and Amy Jenkins played the piano for the choir. All of us at B.P.S. enjoyed the band very much and hopefully they will come and play for us again. LAST DAY BLUES by Jennifer Brigham and Zoey Onn The previous years of school before the Christmas Break, have been great but this year .... Momma Meea Pizza Reea!! before we get to the good stuff, let's go skating! At 9:15 the primary children of Blyth Public School FLORENCE L. (BLAIR) McKENZIE Florence L. (Blair) McKenzie of London, passed away in her 76th year, on December 9, 1991 at St. Joseph's Health Centre, London. She was the wife of the late Ken neth Palmer McKenzie (1984); stepmother of Arthur and his wife Eileen of Alliston; grandmother of Donald McKenzie of Calgary and Marie Wallace of Toronto; and sis ter of Anne Walsh of Wingham. One brother, Hugh Blair, prede ceased her in 1974. Mrs. McKenzie was a long time nurse at Westminster Hospital. The funeral service was held at the M. Box & Son Funeral Home, Parkhill, on December 12 with the Rev. Bridger officiating. went to the arena to enjoy an hour full of fun skating. After the prima ry classes came back to their beloved school the senior classes started up to the arena enjoying the freedom of the outside world. Most of the morning was filled with some skating, most falling, laugh ing, eating and listening to the good times roll! After coming back to the school and thawing out, the grade 7 class offered a noon-hour of pizza-eating fun! Mr. Morton has decided to go on a ski trip so we needed a quick (hopefully) fundraiser. And, obvi ously the fundraiser has so far worked! CHRISTMAS CONCERT 1991 by Tara Wilson and Abigail Ramirez Christmas time has come again and the annual Christmas concert was held at Blyth Public School. On the night of December 19 at Blyth Public School the quiet halls had turned into the hustle and bus tle and scurrying down halls in preparation for the show. Then the big moment came. The junior choir (kindergarten, grades 1, 2, 3) opened up with the songs “Wel come Christmas” and “Lullaby For Christmas Eve”. Then the kinder garten followed with a little skit entitled “All Around the Christmas Tree”. Afterwards the grade 1 pre sented their play, “Huron Carol”. Grade 2 performed “T'was the Night Before Christmas”. Grades 3 and 4 rocked 'n rolled with “C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S”. During the intermission the audience sang “Joy To The World. Then the grade 5 class presented a slide show while singing “It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”. After that the senior choir (grades 5, 6, 7 and 8) performed “The Meaning of Christmas”. And to close it up all the students sang “May There Be Peace on Earth This Christmas” and wished the huge audience a Merry Christmas. B.P.S. CHRISTMAS by Erin Roulston With the Christmas season near ing, the students of Blyth Public School have been doing many Christmas activities. In the grade six room we have made many crafts. We have made bells, wreaths, stockings, cards and place mats. All very lovely crafts. Also, for about a month, the entire school has been working on the Christmas concert. The first performance was on December 17, at 1:00 in the afternoon, for the senior citizens. The second was on December 19, for the students' friends and family. Many of the classes are having Christmas par ties, including ours. We are having a gift exchange as well as games and prizes. Christmas is a very happy time at B.P.S. and I'm sure that when I say this I'm speaking for everyone. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! There's No Better Gift Than Good Health!
