Jardin. Happy Birthday was sung to
Kay Lapp since it was her birthday.
Christmas carols were sung, led by
Laura May Chamney and accompa
nied by Marjorie McDougall on
piano. Evelyn read a poem “The
Night Before Christmas”.
Ell Lapp showed slides of the
Christmas Messenger. Mr. Ken
Flett played several selections on
the violin with Marjorie McDougall
as pianist. These were much
enjoyed. Betty Archambault had
tickets and each one drew one and
got a prize and could change gifts if
desired. This caused some enthusi
asm.
The secretary read the business
letters and they were dealt with.
Money was sent to many organiza
tions. Tina Empey gave the finan
cial statement. The card report was
given by Jean Plaetzer. Many cards
had been signed by all for shut-ins
or former members, and members
who couldn't be present.
The collection and roll call was a
gift or money for the Children's
Aid Society. A committee was
arranged to cater to the 4H Club
dinner to be held in January. The
president adjourned the meeting.

Berman, a nationally-recognized
authority on consumer credit and
author of The Credit Power Hand
book, suggests consumers clip the
following three tips for preserving
good credit and keep them posted
on their refrigerators or above their
desks.
THREE IMPORTANT TIPS
First, figure out which bills
deserve top priority. There is a def
inite optimum order in which to
pay your bills, in the event that
they cannot all be paid at once. You
must retrieve copies of your credit
reports to know which accounts are
reported and which are not.
So, if you are forced to be late for
a certain part of your monthly obli
gations, give priority to those items
that are reflected on your credit
reports. Second, remember that
creditors will often give you an
extended grace period to pay your
bill, if you ask for it. The point is
that you don't want to wait until the
payment is already overdue. Take
preventative action.
Third, always check the charges
on your statements against your
own records. Mistakes - and fraud
- do occur. Be sure you don't pay
for anything you didn't really buy.
