Blyth People _________________________ Mr. and Mrs. Bert Daer visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laurence and family of Dresden on Sunday. Edna Seiler of California and Ellen Jackson of Mitchell visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Daer on Tuesday. Edward and Nancy Daer and Isobel Campbell visited at the same home. Miss Dori Lynn Daer visited on Thursday with her grandparents, Bert and Dorothy Daer. Mary Shobbrook and Clara Rinn had the most lone hands. Len Shob­ brook won the special prize. At Friday night mixed darts play at the Blyth Legion the team of Kim Pilgrim and Kevin Ritchie placed first with Bonnie and Bill Bearss in second place. Dini Neth- ery had the high score for the ladies and Harold Knox for the men. Mae Ritchie won the 50/50 draw. Plans for Christmas event on Dec. 21 coming together While some elements of the pro­ gram are still being kept hush-hush, plans are falling into place for the village of Blyth's Community Christmas Celebration Dec. 21. The event will include free hayrides around the village, carol singing and a community Christ­ mas pageant at Memorial Hall. The hayrides begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue every half hour until 7 p.m. The rides will leave from in front of Memorial Hall and take people on a tour of the village to see the beautifully decorated homes and sing Christmas carols. Beginning at 7 the Junior Farm­ ers will serve hot chocolate and coffee and cider (the latter donated by Boyd Taylor) along with home­ made treats from many local kitchens. At 7:30 the Christmas pageant will begin featuring local talents providing comedy, songs, gymnas­ tics and dancing (identities of the • performers are being kept secret in advance). Admission to the Pageant is $2 for adults and $1 for children with all money going to the Huron Unit­ ed Way. Throughout the day non- perishable items (such as canned goods) will be collected at Memori­ al Hall to be donated to those need­ ing assistance this Christmas. NOTICE TO RESIDENTS VILLAGE OF BLYTH-PARKING During snow plowing/ removal operations, the parking of vehicles on Village Streets Is strictly prohibited. All vehicles must be removed from Village Streets and roadways of the municipality between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Violators will be prosecuted or will be required to bear the cost of having their vehicle towed away. The owner of any such parked vehicle will be liable for any damage to the said vehicle or to any Village snow removal equipment.
