Woman uninjured in Morris accident New directors Members of the Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association elected their new directors at the annual meeting held in Blyth Public school on Saturday. Ray Hallahan heads Threshers There was an excellent turnout at the annual meeting of the Huron Pioneer Threshers and Hobby Association which was held on November 30, 1991, in Blyth Pub­ lic School. Jim Sloan opened the meeting. A moment of silence was observed in memory of our members and their families who have passed away. Carman Craig, treasurer handed out the financial report, which everyone reviewed. 1116 Threshers had another good year with many improvements made to fairgrounds, campgrounds, and steel sheds. Blyth Reeve Albert Wasson and Clerk Helen Grubb were present with an agreement, drawn up between the Corporation of the Vil­ lage of Blyth and the Huron Pio­ neer Threshers and Hobby Association Inc. Jim Sloan stepped down as Presi­ dent at this time and the new Presi­ dent, Raymond Hallahan took his place. An election of new directors fol­ lowed. Elected were: Gordon Rad­ ford, Gary Courtney and Lloyd Josling. The three returning directors are: Darryl Searson, Joan Houston and Harry Wilkins. The meeting was adjourned and a social hour followed. Yju can lose a lot more than your licence drinking and driving. A Blyth area woman escaped injury Thursday, November 28, after the car she was driving spun out of control on an icy road in Morris Township. A spokesperson from the Wing- ham OPP said Sophie Schrocckcr, 38, of RR2, Blyth was driving west on Cone. 8, 1.1 kilometres east of HURON COUNTY A BOARD OF EDUCATION invites applications for membership on THE SPECIAL EDUCATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE This Advisory Committee consist­ ing of board members and volun­ teer citizens may make recommen­ dations to the Huron County Board of Education is respect to any mat­ ter affecting the establishment and development of special education programs and services for excep­ tional pupils. Volunteers must be nominated by a local, incorporated association and appointed by the Huron County Board of Education. Applications should be forwarded to: R.B. HURON COUNTY A BOARD OF EDUCATION invites applications for membership on THE SUPERVISED ALTERNATIVE LEARNING FOR EXCUSED PUPILS COMMITTEE This Committee reviews applica­ tions from parents of 14-15 year old pupils requesting alternative learning programs. The Committee devises recommendations which permit such pupils to be excused from full-time attendance at school to participate in alternative pro­ grams. Any qualified interested elector is invited to apply. Applications should be forwarded to: R.B.
