Blyth firemen busy with 2 calls
Blyth and District Fire Depart
ment responded to a call about a
car fire on the 9th concession of
Hullett, southeast of Londesbor-
ough Wednesday, Oct. 30 shortly
before 1 p.m.
By the time firemen arrived, the
fire in the 1980 Cadillac Seville

There were 13 tables in play at
the weekly euchre party at Memori
al Hall Oct. 28.
June Fothergill and Don
Buchanan had the high scores. Lou
Isaac and Harvey Dolmage had the
low scores. Lois Haines and Lloyd
Appleby had the most lone hands.
Roma Nickelson won the special
prize. There's euchre every Monday
night at 8 p.m.

pile of 2000 large square bales of
hay in Tumberry township, north
east of Wingham. Two rows of
huge bales 250 to 300 feet in length
were ablaze and firemen could do
little to battle the blaze, the Chief
said.

Blyth-Hullett Landfill Site on
Wednesdays.
Please ensure you have an
'Identification Card* allowing
entry at the site. Replacement
or new cards can be obtained
through your Municipal Office.
The Committee have instructed
the Landfill Attendant to ask for
Identification Cards to allow
entry and use of the site.
Scrap metal and tires will be
accepted only on Saturdays.
Tires will be accepted only if
delivered by a Blyth or Hullett
Ratepayer.

Webster win trip
at suitcase dance
Ruth and David Webster were
the winners Friday night of the trip
for two to the Valhalla Inn, Kitch
ener in the suitcase dance held by
the Blyth Rutabaga Festival Com
mittee.
The couple was immediately
whisked away by limousine to
Kitchener for the weekend.
Officials say the dance was well
attended and donors of prizes had
their gifts displayed on little suit
cases. Member of Blyth Legion
donated their time to tend bar and
the lunch was served by Marie Hef-
fron and Lila McClinchey.
