Myth UCW Sunshine Unit holds Oct. meeting The Sunshine Unit of the Blyth U.C.W. held its meeting in the Church Parlour Thursday, October 10. Dorothy Scott and Mary Walden lead in the devotions. The Thanks giving Theme was used in the scripture reading, hymns, readings and poems. There was also a nicely decorated Thanksgiving table to complete the setting. June Peck lead the study on “Young Women”. She gave a quote from the Toronto area saying that “approximately one half of the women have been sexually abused before the age of 30”. Common Ground is the name of a Church Centre in Toronto where these women can come for help. Here they can discuss with others their problems and receive help in ways to cope with their troubles. Bea Chambers presided for the business portion and opened by reading a poem on Thanksgiving. The regular reports were given and 21 members answered the roll call. Plans were made for the anniver sary supper October 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Blyth Community Centre. Further discussion took place on the Harvest Bonanza on Nov. 7, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Nov. 8, 2 - 4 p.m. with the bag sale from 4 - 5 p.m. The Bazaar is Saturday, Nov. 9 from 2-4 p.m. with a tea and silent auction. Bea closed the meeting with the U.C.W. benediction, and the singing of grace. A dainty lunch was served by some of the ladies. rrs $Q 00 TG-II IDQRAVC evert Place your classified ad in person (pre-paid) and HBWtt a I vJ Bl Lz T you’ll enjoy a base-rate of only $3.00 for the first 20 words
