AuburnThe news from Compiled by Mildred Lawlor Phone 526-7589 'More Rain', sermon topic Doran Rolston sang a lovely solo entitled ‘Jesus in Me’ at the morn ing service at Auburn Missionary Church on Sunday, Oct. 27. Pastor Came's message entitled ‘More Rain,’ was taken from Matt. 16: 21-28. Some productive things are boring like knitting the same stitch over and over or the farmer who milks the cows twice a day, seven days a week and 52 weeks of the year. If you are bored in church then you are not identified with the church. Beal the boredom. Non-involve- ment is a cause of boredom. Take the initiative to do something which is a cure for boredom. Young people can link up with a summer mission team and serve in a foreign country. The guarantee is you won't be bored. Hospitality is a cure for boredom. Follow Paul's admonition in Rom. 1:16 “for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”. If you are not ashamed then you won't be bored. The flowers in the sanctuary were from the funeral of Earl Bolton, Cambridge, Ontario which took place at Seaforth on Friday, Oct. 25. Brig. Farmers to get financial aid Part of the Ontario Government's farm relief program is $3.5 million targeted for farmers experiencing financial stress through market prices or weather related problems. Drought was cited as one example, however hail would also be a weather related problem. No dol lars have been targeted for specific problems and the details of the pro gram have not been finalized. Allo cation of funds will be influenced by the federal farm aid package. Areas of need will be determined by data farm crop insurance. Another factor will be the financial institution of particular farm in the drought or hail areas. It was hoped that in weather related areas many farmers would be enrolled in the Ontario ASA. The farmer's one third premium will be paid back to the farmer by the province. This is to be based on the 1990 yield and hopefully would also help those with weather related problems. The original press release did not make clear that drought assistance included weather related problems of any kind. It is hoped that this additional information will help to clarify the situation.
