Mrs. Uhler's pupils have been studying about trees and they're making a tree booket. Mrs. Clarke's class has science table and the children are bringing in "signs of fall". The girls and boys of Kindergat- en are learning many new nursery rhymes. Meanwhile in Grade 1 Ms. Anonech's pupils are putting the finishing touches on their castles. In Kindergarten we asked Chris tine Seili and Matthew Macintosh how they felt about school so far. Matthew finds school is fine. His favourite pastime in school is play time. Christine finds that school is fun, and her favourite pastime is sleep time. They both enjoy reading buddies; they like school so far. The new soccer field is very helpful to those that like to play soccer or any other game. The cross-country people found it easy to run around. White Returning Officer Village of Brussels Brussels People You can't let a little thing like grand theft auto ruin a vacation, can you? Thai's precisely the situation Ross and Anna Cunningham and Evelyn and Glen Bray found them selves in on a recent trip to Nashville, Tennessee. The joumey began uneventfully on Thursday, October 3 when the group departed from Brussels. They arrived at their destination the following day at noon and found a room at the Knight Inn. At about 5 a.m. the next morning Glen awoke and, peeking out the window, discovered the 1987 Olds missing. They contacted the police who eventually recovered the car in Nashville. Apparently the thieves had bro ken the back window and as they had no keys, tore apart the steering column, then used a screwdriver to start it. Evelyn says they had rented a car to get around during their stay and managed to see all the sights of Nashville, including the Grand Ol' Opry, Opryland, and the General Jackson Boat Cruise. They had just bought tickets for the bus trip home, when the police notified them that the car had been found, albeit a little worse for wear. The thieves, Evelyn says, look vir tually everything they could, even the couples' cameras and eyeglass es. Ashley Gropp celebrated her 10th birthday on Sunday. Attending were her parents, sister Nicki, brother Joshua, brother Jason, home from the University of Wind sor for the occasion, Grandparents Ott from Listowel, Grandma Gropp from Milverton and her godparents, Bob and Pal Ott of Kitchener and Barb and Brian Gropp of Stratford and cousins, Andrew Ott and Craig Gropp. • PIZZAS -MOVIES - J.R.'s T-SHIRTS SPECIALS J.R.'s SHAKE SHOPPE HOT DOG & POP......................
