The Bulls led the exhibition affair 4-1 after the first and never looked back ripping the crushers 10-5. The line of Steve Fritz, Jeff McKee and rookie Ted Sills led the way with four Bulls' markers. Fritz had two goals and had a hand in two other Brussels goals. Also scoring for the Bulls was Corey McKee, who also had four points, Quade Lightbody, Todd Norman, Joe Walker, Adam Rogers and Brett Long. Coach Scott Pettigrew says, "The ice surface in Orangeville is similar to ours in Brussels and we showed a lot of speed and puck movement which was nice to see." It was a totally different team that took on the New Hamburg Spirit 83 on Sunday afternoon. The Bulls came out flying building a 3- 0 lead ... but then slacked off and ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 score. The Spirit won it with just 14 seconds left in the penalty-filled contest. Five ten-minute miscon duct penalties were handed out as well as two game misconducts and a gross misconduct. Jamie Hislop, Ted Sills and Scott Vader had the Bulls' goals. Corey McKee chipped in with two assists. Coach Pettigrew felt his team showed a lack of discipline right from the start and will have to work on maintaining its focus when things go wrong. The Bulls and New Hamburg play again this Fri day night at 8 p.m. in New Ham burg. A total of 20 players have now signed cards including four excel lent young prospects. Defencemen Jeff Potvin and Quade Lightbody of Port Elgin, Centre Scott Vader of Fordwich and Todd Norman, a 14-year-old centre from Gowans- town signed over the weekend. Pettigrew says, "All four of the youngsters were late cuts from the Waterloo Siskins and Stratford Cul- litons. I'm confident once they get to know the other guys and get comfortable they will be an impor tant part of our team this season." Notes: Assistant Coach Hugh Nichol has left the Bulls. He has taken the head coaching job with the Goderich Sailors. The Sailors fired their coach last week. Nichol will be assisted by Paul Steep, who is also a former Bulls head coach. Shawn Jacklin, a product of Brussels Minor Hockey, looked good in camp and was in line for a spot with the Bulls but informed the team he will be playing Junior "D" in Seaforth. Jacklin sat out last season in a dispute over his release to Seaforth.
