Brussels Livestock report Steady demand reported on slaughter cattle Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending September 6 were: slaughter cattle, 400; cows, 115; veal calves, 190; lambs and goats, 71; pigs, 50; Stockers, 600. Slaughter cattle sold this week on a fully steady trade. There were 259 steers on offer selling from $80.25 to $84.50 to the high of $86.70. Forty-four steers consigned by W. B. Pletch Co. Ltd., Rockwood, averaging 1267 lbs. sold for an average price of $84.50 to the high of $86.70. Two steers consigned by Mark Matheson, Listowel, averaging 1185 lbs. sold for an average of $83.40 to the high of $84.50. Ten steers consigned by Jim Howatt, Londesboro averaging 1231 lbs. sold for an average price of $81.55 to the high of $83.40. Three steers consigned by Rolf Huber, Wingham averaging 1033 lbs. sold for an average of $81.90 to the high of $82. The Agri Food Education­ al Trust is the umbrella organiza­ tion promoting and implementing Education in the Classroom in Ontario. ‘Huron County: An Agri­ cultural Leader V’ brings these two sponsors together. ‘Huron County: An Agricultural Leader V’ is hosted by the Huron County Junior Farmers to recognize agriculture and its people in Huron County. Held during Agri-Food Week, the evening includes the pre­ sentation of the Rural Leadership Awards to people for their leader­ ship and contribution to agriculture and the rural community in Huron County. Guest speaker for the evening will be Suzanne Leitch, Vice-Chairperson of the Agri-Food Educational Trust. Education leads to awareness.
