This is a controlled hunt in which all hunters must have their deer licence validated by a special lag. Only Ontario residents may hunt and only shotguns and muzzle- loaders can be used. Farmers and landowners of 50 acres or more are eligible to receive a tag. Other Ontario residents must enter their names in a lottery-type draw for a limited number of validation tags. Applications for this hunt should be available at the Wingham District office of the Ministry of Natural Resources after July 31. The com pleted applications for the draw must be received at the Wingham office by 5 p.m., Aug. 30, 1991. There will also be two special hunting seasons for those using bows and arrows, and not dogs. Those seasons run from Oct. 15- Nov. 3 and Nov. 9-Dec. 31. The hunt in south Bruce will be Nov. 4 to 8 for rifles, shotguns and muzzle-loaders and no dogs allowed. Bow and arrow hunting will be allowed from Oct. 15 to Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 to Dec. 31. In Perth the season for shotguns and muzzle-loaders will be from Dec. 2-6 with bows and arrows allowed from Oct. 15 to Dec. 1 and Dec. 7 to Dec. 31. The corporation is a lender of last resort and clients must have been turned down by chartered banks and the Federal Business Development Bank before they can get money from the corporation. The development corporation does loan at competitive rates, however. The third part of the organization is the Community Futures Commit tee which does research and plan ning. It's good to look five years down the road at where you want to be, Mr. Nichol said. The goal of the committee is to get community groups taking action to attain their goals, he said. Mr. Nichol said the lesson to be learned from the Saugeen experi ence is that "nobody comes knock ing at your door with money to help out". CELLO 1.99 FROZEN Blyth, reported on the activities of the Central Huron Community Development Area. Il's the oldest of the four Huron development areas with its formation meeting on May 9, 1990 and taking in Blyth, Clinton and Seaforth and the town ships of Hullett, McKillop and Tuckersmith. Unlike the northern area, it is made up of one member of council and the clerk of each municipality. The committee has been meeting monthly since. The communities had to look at what their community was about, where it is going and what the com munity had to offer, she said. They looked at what industry they had now and how they could help that industry grow. She used as an example Howson and Howson Limited in Blyth and looking for other industries that could use the flour milled there instead of it all having to be shipped to Toronto and Montreal. The communities realized there were savings to be made if they pooled their advertising for promo tion, she said. Two subcommittees have been set up, she said. One is making a listing of all industrial buildings MAXWELL HOUSE GROUND COFFEE REGULAR, FINE & EXTRA FINE 1 900 G. SCHNEIDER'S Bucket of Chicken 5.99 available in the area and the details of each. This listing will be avail able through the Ministry of Indus try, Trade and Technology as well as through the county and local municipalities. The second committee had pul together a proposal for a residential rehabilitation addiction research centre. That proposal has been sub mitted to the provincial government with a specific site in mind in one of the communities. Il was difficult for some of the municipalities to accept the proposal that would ben efit one municipality most, she said but they decided the important thing was for all to work together. Janisse Zimmerman spoke about the South Huron Community Development Area which is also made up of council members and staff from the various municipali ties involved. She said the North Huron method of getting the whole community involved was a "more interesting exercise than our forma tion". The committee is now trying to get more public involvement, she said. The committee has undertaken three projects: a listing of industrial and commercial properties; forma- HEINZ KETCHUP 750 ML. *|h99 We reserve the right to limit quantities Prices In effect from July 23-27 Deliveries Monday to Friday only!
