Phone 887-9250 Baking aplenty There was baking aplenty for the shoppers at the Country Fayre at Knox United Church in Belgrave Saturday. As well as plant and bake sales and a penny sale, the event was followed by a dinner in the WI Hall. The Belgrave Country Fayre was held at Knox United Church in the WI hall on Saturday, June 22 with a good attendance. It was a perfect day for this occasion. Playground activities begin Bill and Helen Dobson spent the weekend at Kleinburg where they attended the Anti-Truck Society gathering. They were able to return home with two trophies. Mrs. Percy Stephenson, former Ethel resident passed away at her home in Hamilton. Interment will lake place in the Ethel Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to Jayne and Del Ziegler on the passing of Jayne's brother, Vernon Egerdeen of Kitchener. On Tuesday afternoon in the Ethel park, Playground Activities will be held for 3 to 10 year olds from 1 to 4 p.m. beginning July 9 to August 13. Ella Ives of Blyth was in charge of the sports which was enjoyed by all. Guests were present from Parry Sound, Decher, Michigan, Corun­ na, Kitchener, London, Glencoe, Wingham, Clinton, Londesbor- ough, Bluevale, Blyth, Belgrave, and surrounding district. Following the supper hour, the president Larry Fisher of RR 2, Clinton was in charge of the meet­ ing. He announced the deaths dur­ ing the past year: Wm. Alexander Nethery, Lilly Noble, Kathleen Munk and Edgar Wightman. A few moments silence followed in remembrance. Special prizes were awarded by Larry Fisher to: youngest person present, Jessica Nethery; oldest person present, Myrtle Barker of Goderich; person coming the longest distance, Jim Riome of Parry Sound and also whose birth­ day was on June 23, Jim Leishman; lucky plate, was won by Gladys Van Camp and Sheila Renshaw; guessing number of candies in a jar, Marie Nethery. The "Guess the Answer" contest was won by Larry Fisher and Isabel Gamiss. A treat of watermelon was given to everyone by Jack Nethery of Corunna. President for next year is Larry Fisher of RR 2, Clinton and secretary-treasurer is Mary Isabel Nethery of Belgrave. Next year’s reunion is planned for June 28 at Londesborough.
