Pastor Carne's message taken from I Samuel 2: 11-30 was enti tled 'Descended from Dad'. We have more than food for which we can thank our fathers. A father's devotion to God should reflect that he obeys God and a father's respon sibility is to provide a pattern and example for his devotion to God. A father should show devotion to his children. If a child has an inferi ority complex it is often caused by his parents. Children will thank you if you are a father of discipline. Proper discipline is an expression of love. A father’s direction is his responsi bility to lead his children to become Christians; to pray with them; and to be with them in church on Sun day. Anniversary services at Huron Chapel will be Sunday, June 23 at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. with Rev. J. Allan Shantz of Kitchener as guest speaker. The Switzer Trio of Mer lin, Ontario will be ministering in music. Everyone is invited to this celebration of praise for the burn ing of the mortgage on the annex next door to the church. He said try planting seeds in a toilet tissue roll cut in two and place dirt in and seed and plant roll right in the gar den. He spoke on vines and slated the first year it sleeps, the second year it creeps and the third year it leaps. If you plant glads with panty hose for netting they will grow up through and won't fall over. Plant lettuce seed and pul in your refrigerator to germinate as it likes cool conditions. Try planting pars ley for a flower border and it's nice and green and you can eat it loo. Put geraniums in small pots as they do better potbound. Try growing cucumbers up a trellis or a tomato cage. Ashes make good fertilizer. Use lea bags in bottom of clay pots instead of stones the lea bags hold moisture. To keep cut flowers longer, mix one tablespoon of lemon juice, one tablespoon sugar and one table spoon of household bleach in one quart of water. When putting bulbs away used coloured rubber bands and then you can tell what colour they will be. He gave so many more ideas. There was a question and answer period.
