THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5,1991. 4 Couple celebrates 50th Golden moment Roy and Pearl Dolmage of RR1, Londesboro celebrated 50 years of marriage at a reception held in their honour at Blyth Community Centre on Saturday night. The Dolmages were married on May 31, 1941 and have spent their life farming in the Londesboro area. Londesboro Compiled by Mrs. June Fothergill. Phone 523-4360 Community extends sympathy Mrs. Elroy Kuntz of Kitchener spent the weekend with her sister Florence Cartwright. Florence had a barbecue on Saturday evening. Present were her mother, Mrs. Mae Rinn and sister Lois of Belgrave; her sister Mrs. Kuntz and son Claude of London. The sympathy of the community is extended to the Albert (Pat) Club plans Goderich trip The May meeting of Happy Gang Seniors was held at the Hall on Wednesday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. Members opened with "O Cana­ da". A reading "Mother Doesn't Want A Dog" was given by Harry Lear. Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. Plans were made to meet at the Hall at 1:30 p.m. for the June meet­ ing on Wednesday, June 26. Mem- Hullett signs agreement Hullett Township Council autho­ rized the signing of a boundary road maintenance agreement with McKillop township at the May 21 meeting of council. The agreement between the two townships allows for cost-sharing of maintenance and repair of road- v ays that are boundaries between uie two townships. In other business, council agreed Mason family on the passing of his twin brother George (Mike) at Rainy River. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hines of Tus- con, Arizona last week visited rela­ tives Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Bryans of Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McGregor, Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Don MacGregor and family in Lon­ desboro area, Mr. and Mrs. Mel bers will visit Goderich Museum and take a bag lunch for a picnic supper at St. Christopher's Beach. Reta Kelland gave the Financial Report, this was seconded by Betty Archambault. Roll call was answered by 22 members. A vote of thanks was given to Clara Riley for being President the past two years. Appointed officers for September were: President, Harry Lear; Acting that the Clinton Area Fire Depart­ ment is authorized to answer emer­ gency and fire calls initiated by Goderich Fire Department in those areas of Goderich and Colbome Townships in which fire protection is purchased. The Fire Area Agree­ ment will be amended to reflect the new situation. Council voted to send letters to Londesboro Lions Club, Dale Friends and family gathered at a reception in Blyth Community Centre on Saturday evening to hon­ our Roy and Pearl Dolmage of RR1, Londesboro on the occasion of their golden wedding anniver­ sary. The former Pearl Coleman and her groom were married at the Church picnic, Sunday Ushers at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, June 2 were Fred Peel, Ken Penfound, Bryan Whyte and Brian Bergsma. Flowers at the front were in memory of Olive Gaunt placed by the family. The sermon topic was "Who Owns The Stuff?" Members of Senior Youth Group going to Wonderland are to meet at Paul's Place, Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m. to drive to Seaforth to meet the bus. Next Sunday, June 9 is the annu­ al Outdoor Service and Picnic and Sunday School Promotion and Awards Service. This will be held at Londesboro Hall with service at regular time of 11:15 a.m. Bring food for pot luck dinner. Bring cut­ lery and disnes. Drinks will be pro­ vided. The Sunday School held their annual Pancake Breakfast before and after the service Sunday. WI meets The June meeting of Londesboro W.I. will be held Wednesday, June 12 at 8 p.m. Darryl Ball will show slides and give a Travelogue on China. Roll call is to bring an item made in China. All ladies of the community are welcome to this meeting. Knox and family and Mrs. Beth Knox. The 91st Huron West Women's Institute District annual meeting was held at Londesboro Hall on Monday, May 27. The theme was "Women For Home and Country". Lois Elliott, Londesboro's new President welcomed all present. Vice, Edythe Beacom; Secretary, June Fothergill; Treasurer, Reta Kelland. There were four tables of euchre. Ladies' high was June Fothergill; ladies' lone hands, Margaret Tay­ lor; ladies' low, Laura Lyon; men's high, Vietta Hoggart (playing as a man); men's lone hands, Jean Scott (playing as a man); men's low, Hazel Watkins (playing as a man). Pumps and the O.P.P. Detachment at Goderich for their help with the Hullett Township fireworks display May 20. A bylaw was passed permitting James and Dorene Radford to maintain and use an encroachment on municipal land. The Reeve and Clerk were autho­ rized to sign a development agree­ ment with Bob and Sylvia Trick. Presbyterian manse by Rev. Hugh Jack on May 31, 1941. The bride was the daughter of Francis and Flossie Coleman and the groom was the son of Austin and Maude Dolmage. The couple was attended by the late William Dolmage and Vietta Hoggart. Following the ceremony the new­ lyweds travelled to Calendar for their honeymoon trip. They are: Jean Dill, Earl, Frank, Agnes Scar­ row, the late Donald Dolmage, Doris Fielder, Douglas and Den­ nis. Mr. Dolmage has been a dedi­ cated farmer all his life, with his family joking that he is now only partially retired and said farming is his sole hobby or special interest. Mrs. Dolmage enjoys needlework. A special guest at the anniversary reception was the bride's attendant 50 years ago, Mrs. Hoggart.
