HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 1991-05-29, Page 28Obituaries DOROTHY MILLER Dorothy Miller of Stratford, passed away peacefully at her resi­ dence on Tuesday, May 21, 1991. She was in her 76th year. The former Dorothy Huether was the loving wife of David W. Miller of Stratford. She was the dear mother of J. David Miller of Toron­ to and Doris Linda Douglas and her husband, Dr. James R. Douglas of Woodstock. She was the beloved grandmother of Mark H. Kirkby of Wingham and Steven D. Kirkby of Oakville, and the great-grandmoth­ er of Alena Kirkby of Wingham. Mrs. Miller will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Marie McTaggart, and brother, Murray Huether, both of Brussels. She was predeceased by a brother, Glenn and sister, Evelyn Evans. Funeral services were held at Betts Funeral Home in Brussels at 3 p.m. on Friday. Rev. Cam McMillan officiated. Pallbearers were: Dale McTaggart, Mark Kirk­ by, Steven Kirkby, Thomas Miller, Gerald Huether and Brian Huether. Interment was held at Brussels Cemetery. Following the service, lunch was served at Brussels United Church where friends and family gathered for a time of remembering. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Perth County VON, Stratford, would be appreci­ ated. OLIVE R. GAUNT A former Londesboro resident, Olive. R. Gaunt, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 1991 at Mait­ land Manor in Goderich. She was 92. Mrs. Gaunt was bom in Hullett township. For many years she lived in the Lucknow area, before return­ ing to Hullett in 1947. She and her husband, James Earl Gaunt retired to their home in Londesboro in 1961. Her husband passed away in 1982. Mrs. Gaunt will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mrs. Faye (Harold) Dalrymple of Egmondville and her son Kenneth Gaunt and his wife, Margaret of Hanover. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great­ grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gaunt was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Martha Lyon; five sis­ ters, Edna Holmes, Maude Lobb, Elsie Kerslake, Mae Hesk and Ida Durnin and two brothers, Joseph and Stanley Lyon. Mrs. Gaunt was a member of Londesboro United Church where she was an active member, for many years, in the Women's Mis­ sionary Society and the UCW group. Rev. Paul Ross conducted the funeral service on Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m. from the Tasker Chapel of the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home in Blyth. Pallbearers were: Bert Lyon, Jim Lobb, Bob Kerslake, Mervyn Durnin and Doug Hesk. Cathy and Larry Dalrymple were flowerbearcrs. Interment was at Blyth Union Cemetery. BRADLEY CAMPBELL Members of his family and many friends are mourning the sudden death of Bradley Mark Campbell of Wingham, who died at Victoria Hospital, London on Tuesday, May 14, 1991. Brad, known to many as Bert was 24 years old. Surviving along with his mother, Mary Lavis and her hus­ band James are his brothers and sis­ ters and their spouses Jane and Gord Machan of Bluevale; Ruth and Dale Machan of Brussels; Joan and Ross Livingston of Listowel; Dan and Pat Campbell of Bluevale; and his foster sister Jennie Tickell of Hamilton. He will be especially remembered by his nieces and nephews Todd and Trevor Machan, Michelle, Tim and Steven Machan, Ainslea Livingston, and Jennifer, Ashley and Brittany Campbell. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy in 1958 and his brother David in 1974. Bradley attended Tumbcrry Cen­ tral School and F. E. Madill Sec­ ondary School and was employed as a truck driver for Hyndman Transport of Wroxctcr. Funeral service was held Friday, May 17 at two o'clock at the McBurney Funeral Home, with Rev. Bonnie Cole Amal officiating. Interment followed in Wingham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Todd Machan, Tim Machan, Michelle Machan, andhisfriend^Bol^ow^Peier Smits and David Ryan.
