Hullett students discuss child safety Editors: Karla Stacey and Andrea Postma BABYSITTER CLUB by Karla Stacey On Thursday, May 16 the babysitter club got together after school to have a talk about child abuse and child safety. Constable Marshall told us a bit about child abuse. Mrs. Regina Campbell told us about safety, bandaging and choking. We all had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Thanks for talk ing to us. GRADE 1/2 Mrs. Pletch's grade 1/2 has been really busy lately. They have been working with marbles and have each decorated a marble bag. They are working on Hot Books for Author's Day. QUEBEC TRIP by Andrea Postma Some of the Grade 7/8’s went to Quebec from May 14. It was full of historical information and tours around Quebec. We also met some Francophone students. We also saw a 4,000 year-old mummy who was petrified. We had a lot of fun! GRADE 6 TRIP TO GODERICH In the morning the grade 6's start ed off to the museum where they did a unit on Simple Machines. After that they saw a display on the Titanic. They then ate lunch at the historic jail where they ate in front of the courtyard. In the afternoon they went to the courthouse where they did a VIP program. They also spoke to Judge Carter. After a long day they relaxed at the beach for half an hour and then headed home. They had a lot of fun. GRADE 2/3 Mrs. Bosman's grade 2/3 class is writing books for Author’s Day about "My Mother's the Best and the Worst." Other than that it's bor ing school work. GRADE 4 Grade 4's are trying their green thumbs. They are growing flowers outside. We thank them for beauti fying our school. GRADE 7/8 GAUSS MATH TEST by Andrea Postma Some of the Hullett Central stu dents are doing a Gauss Math Test. This is a difficult test and the best of luck to those who are trying it. GRADE 8 by Andrea Postma The Grade 8’s are married just so they can experience married life. They have children and divorces. The Grade 8's are also working hard on their books for Author's Day. The class is really, really, busy preparing for their graduation. There are programs and decorations to be made and clothes for the lucky grads to wear.
