Novices play Saturday
On March 9 Blyth Novice Reps
travelled to Teeswater to play in
their annual Lions Novice Tourney.
Their first game was against the
Teeswater boys and they managed
to pull off a 4-3 win. The goals for
this game were scored by Jeremy
Van Amersfoort, 2; Allan Gibbons,
Jamie Black, one each; and assists
going to Chris Carter, 3; Jeremy
Van Amersfoort, Allan Gibbons
and Kyle Anderson, one each.
The boys took a much needed
rest and received a lunch from the
Lioness Club. They then faced off
against a strong Lucknow team and
were defeated 5-2.
Jamie Black tallied both goals.
with assists going to Jeremy Van
Amersfoort, Kyle Anderson and
Brent Sauve.
Lucknow went on to win the
tournament by defeating Belmore
in the final.
During ‘March Break’ the boys
travelled to Belmore for an exhibi
tion game. With a few of the boys
still on vacation, Blyth’s bench was
a little shy of manpower. This
seemed to tire the boys quickly and
Belmore won this game by a 6-0
score. This coming weekend the
boys will be playing in the Blyth
Lions Novice Tourney. Their first
game is at 11 a.m. Saturday
morning.

solid 2-1 win which sent Blyth into
the Consolation round.

second game of the tourney on
Wednesday, March 13 with Brad
