People
Members of Brussels United
congregation enjoyed a St.
Patrick’s Day luncheon following
the morning service on Sunday.
The decorative theme featured
home grown pralies, shamrocks,
green butterflies, green items on
the menu and of course the
wearing of the green by many of
those present.
Young and the young-at-heart all
enjoyed the gathering very much.
Mr. and Mrs. Mei Jacklin were
visited by her daughter, Marlene
Glanville, and Ken Fosberg of
London for a couple of days last
week.

Estimates,
feverish
work,
Allan says
Continued from page 1
the material presented was a
“product of feverish work” and
though the administration “be
lieves it to be accurate”, it was not
subject to the usual “rigorous
verification.”
Vice-Chair Bea Dawson ques
tioned whether there would be any
surprises that have not been in
cluded, noting that pay equity
dollars for this year were not in.
Mr. Allan replied that in the
administration’s judgement every
thing was in the estimates. “To the
best of our knowledge we don’t see
any big concerns arising.” He
reminded that in the area of special
projects the board is in the “driv-
ver’s seat”.
Superintendent of Operations
Paul Carroll presented the board
with a list of special projects for
consideration. Several, he stated,
could be moved over to GEMS
grant for computer funding. The
trustees then listed what they felt
as priority projects for considera
tion. No final decisions on the
budget increase or special projects
will be reached until the meeting in
April.
