Optimists International is spon
soring its first ever Video Game
Challenge and local clubs are
inviting area youngsters to partici
pate on March 23.
Brussels Optimists are hosting
the competition in the Brussels,
Morris and Grey Community Cen
tre, while the Blyth Optimists are
setting up in the Public School.
Two groups of contestants from
Grade one to four and five to eight
will each have the opportunity to
play three, three-minute games for
- the combined total finishing score.
The two top competitors of each
group will receive a trophy and
advance to the Southwestern com
petition to be held next month in
Blyth.
The decision to hold this type of
event was due to video games
popularity. “All kids seem to like to
play video games, so the clubs
thought they might as well give this
a try,’’ said Optimist Don Craw
ford. “If it goes well, it will be an
on-going event.”
