OMAF offers sprayer workshop BY BRIAN HALL FARM MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST FOR HURON COUNTY Looking to understand and im­ prove the performance of your field sprayer? The' Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food is hosting three workshops in Huron county during the month of March on Sprayer Performance and Calibra­ tion. Workshop dates are: Friday, March 8 - Centralia College; Tues­ day, March 19 - Belgrave; Wed­ nesday, March 20 - Vanastra. All workshops are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $26.75 per participant. Topics covered in the workshop include sprayer nozzles and components, sprayer calibra­ tion and performance, weather effects on spray, and calculating application rates. The workshop will provide hands on training for participants, with an opportunity to test several of their own nozzles. Improving your sprayer’s perfor­ mance can help you minimize your herbicide cost and the chances of getting weed control.
