Farm March is Junior Farmers Month Market sells steady at Brussels sale Friday The market at Brussels Livestock Inc. Friday sold steady on all classes. There were 255 slaughter cattle and 117 pigs on offer. Good to choice steers sold from $88 to $94 to a high of $96 per hundred weight. Four steers con­ signed by Jack Glousher, RR 4, Wingham, averaging 1333 lbs. sold for an average price of $90.38, with one charolais steer selling at a high of $95.25. Thirty-eight steers consigned by Murray Forbes of RR 2, Clinton, averaging 1295 lbs. sold for an average price of $89.82 with one limousin steer selling for a high of $96. Two steers consigned by John Smuck of RR 4, Wingham, averag­ ing 1090 lbs. sold for an average price of $88. Nine steers consigned by Ross Battin of RR 2, Monkton, averaging 1272 lbs. sold for an average price of $87.95. Good to choice heifers sold from $84 to $89 to a high of $93.50. Eight heifers consigned by Bert Elliott of RR 1, Kincardine averaging 1069 lbs. sold for an average price of $89.30. Three heifers consigned by Elgin Hogg of RR 1, Wingham, averaging 847 lbs. sold for an average price of $89.18. Four heifers consigned by John Smuck of RR 4. Wingham, averag­ ing 980 lbs. sold for an average price of $88.60. Five heifers con­ signed by Barry Jacklin of RR 2, Bluevale averaging 1174 lbs. sold for an average price of $88.25. Eight heifers consigned by Randy Pentland of RR 6, Goderich averag­ ing 1098 lbs. sold for an average price of $87.57. There were 109 cows on offer. DI and D2 cows sold from $58 to $62; D3 and D4 cows, $50 to $55. One cow consigned by Roy Beuerman of RR 1, Dublin, weigh­ ing 1660 lbs. sold for $62.50. One cow consigned by Elliott Hackwell of RR 1, Walton weighing 1240 lbs. sold for $60.25. One cow consigned by Les Caldwell of RR 3, Blyth, weighing 1280 lbs. sold for $59.75. Six cows consigned by Stuart Alton of RR 2, Lucknow averaging 1247 lbs. sold for an average price of $58.96. One cow consigned by Brad Curran of RR 2, Wingham, weighing 1340 lbs. sold for $59. One cow consigned by Peter Van- Osch of RR 3, Lucknow, weighing 1490 lbs. sold for $57.50. Two cows consigned by Ron Jamieson of RR 2, Lucknow, averaging 1405 lbs. sold for an average price of $56.86. Four cows consigned by Ted Van- derveld of RR 3, Lucknow, averag­ ing 1308 lbs. sold for an average price of $56.85. Pigs 40 - 50 lbs. sold at $90.20; 50 - 60 lbs., $92; 60 $92.37. Junior Farmers is designed by young people for young to explore and develop their talents and potentials. We have cultural activities, sporting events, self help and leadership opportuni­ ties, community betterment and agricultural awareness projects and travel all in an atmosphere of fun. You can probably find more in Junior Farmers than in any other organization. The membership meeting of the Central Huron Junior Farmers will be held Tuesday, March 12 at 8 p.m. at Hullett Central Public School, Londesboro.
