A novel act
Candace Irwin of Belgrave won the Senior Novelty Baton at
the competition held recently in Wingham. Candace is a
member of the Wingham Canadettes.

Another successful evening of,
crokinole was held in the United
Church Sunday School room March

dale, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Grasby returned
home on Saturday by bus following
a two-week vacation in Florida.
Roy Robinson, RR 1, Belgrave is
a patient in University Hospital,
London.
George Michie and Alvin Procter
are patients in the St. Joseph
Hospital, London.

Nine tables were in play at the
weekly euchre which was held in
the W.I. Hall, Belgrave, Wednes
day, February 27.
Winners were: high lady, Mrs.
Brenda Perrie; low lady, Mrs.
Lloyd Appleby; novelty lady, Mrs.
Helen Martin; lone hands, lady,
Mrs. Ray Crawford; high man,
Leslie Vincent; low man, Dennis
Leddy; novelty man, Bill Nethery;
lone hands, man, Lloyd Appleby.
There will be euchre again

1. There were thirteen tables in
play.
Prizes were given to: high lady,
Karin Marks, score 730; high man,
Kirk Krieger, score 695; most 20’s,
Karin Marks with 9 and also Trevor
Beck with 9; low man, Michael
Marks; low lady, Marilyn McLean;
lucky chair winner, Matthew Beck;
door prizes, Matthew Beck, Car-
leigh Galbraith and Justin Cam
bell.
Although the prizes were won by
the younger group there were
adults enjoying the evening as
well. After crokinole refreshments
were served followed by socializ
ing. A special thanks to everyone
who helped in anyway.
The next crokinole party will be
held Friday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m.
in the United Church Sunday

The annual canvass for the Heart
and Stroke Foundation in the south
half of East Wawanosh was once
again a success.
Total contributions were 984.50.
This compares with $967 last year
and $745 in 1989. The thanks of all
those suffering from heart disease
goes to the six canvassers, Sylvia
Nonkes and Astrid VanEeden-
Petersman on Concession 1, Betty
Lewis and Noreen Wilson on
Concessions 2 and 3, and Anna
vanderHeyden and Elaine Snell on
Concessions 4 and 5.
Together they visited 80 homes
and collected on average $12.31 per
home.
