Brussels Tuesday at 9 p.m. Game
five is in Hanover, Thursday at 9
p.m. Game six is in Brussels,
Sunday, March 19 at 8:30 and
game seven in Hanover Thursday,
March 14 at 9 p.m.

After dropping the first game of
their playoff series with Howick
Brussels Novices rebounded to win
the series. Now they face the same
challenge against Drayton.
Brussels travelled to Howick
Feb. 12 for the first game of the
best of three series, losing 3-1 to
the home team. Howick took a first
period lead but in the second
Trevor Wilson scored from Chad
Fischer and Carla Hunt to tie the
score. Before the period ended,
however, Howick took the lead
again with a goal with 1:57 left.
They added to the lead in the third
when they scored their third goal.
Back in Brussels Feb. 16 it was a
different story as Brussels shut-out
the visitors 5-0 backed up by
Stephen Oldfield’s outstanding
goaltending.
Kevin Mutter started the scoring
for Brussels with assists to Mat
thew McLellan and Ryan Smith.
Matthew McLellan scored from
Tyler Bragg and Jay Seibert to
extend the lead before the period
ended.
In the second Trevor Wilson
scored from Shawn Engel and
Justin Ruttan. Four minutes later
Trevor Wilson widened the lead
with a goal from Mark Franken and
Robbie Mitchell.
In the third period it was Trevor
Wilson completing his hat-trick as
he scored from Jason Armstrong
and Joel Kellington.
Feb. 20 the team completed its
comeback with a 2-1 win at home.
Howick scored first but Trevor
Wilson got his team on even terms
a minute later, scoring from Joel
Kellington and Darrell Dalton.
In the second period Trevor
Wilson scored from Mike Cooper
and Kevin Mutter to seal the win.
Friday Drayton came to Brussels
to the start of the second round of
the playoffs, a best-of-three affair.
Drayton took the lead in the first
period and added to it in the
second. With 1:24 left in the second
Trevor Wilson scored from Mike
Cooper and Robbie Mitchell to get
Brussels close but 21 seconds later
Drayton scored again to cement the
lead. Drayton scored once more in
the third to skate away with the
victory.
