Also, in his message to the board he expressed a need for partnerships and co-op­ eration between the various agen­ cies and the public. “Environmen­ tal consciousness and accounta­ bility are at an all time high. We must be prepared to defend our programs and actions,” he said. Mr. McCall stated that it is critical that the local voice be heard and the needs of the watershed be addressed in order to meet the future expectations of the people. In the election Mr. McCall won by acclamation the position of Chairman for his fourth term, but in accepting made the announce­ ment that he would not run for a fifth and final term next year. “I do recognize that there is a lot of talent on this board and I want to see them have the chance to perform,” he said. Other appointments were: George Wicke, Vice Chairman; Dave Gower, Chairman of Finance and Administration; Carmen Kaye, Chairman of Land Management; Ivan Suggitt, Chairman of Water Management; Leona Armstrong, Vice-Chairman of Finance and Administration; Connie Eadie, Vice Chairman of Land Management and Diane Hahn, Vice Chairman of Water Management. Ron Beecroft was appointed Director-at-Large. Senior speakers Ross Bennett (right) of Brussels Legion presented trophies to the three top speakers in the senior division at the Brussels Public School speaking contest Thursday.
