Jim Nixon who coached his team to a string of league championships with an abrasive, intimidating style of hockey, returned to the Hanover bench in late December after missing half a season because of retirement. He returned with a call for a more aggressive style of hockey from the team and a hope that finally his team will get the one title that has eluded him: the provincial Jr. C title. Last year. after nipping a tired Brussels’ Bull team in the league final, the team lost in the OHA quarter-finals. Coach Nixon replaces Doug Kennedy who was hired as his replacement after last season when the team executive opted for a new direction. Mr. Kennedy resigned three weeks ago and was succeed ed on an interim basis by Paul Lahn. Under Coach Kennedy the team had trailed Brussels all season until Brussels slipped into a slump and Barons defeated Brus sels to take over top spot by one point.
