MacDonald, Tammy and Kim will be home from Fraserdale. Ont. on Sat., Dec. 22. They • will be celebrating the holiday season with Mr. and Mrs. Harvie Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. W. MacDonald of • Kin- cardine. Randy, Joan and girls will be returning to ,,Fraserdale in early January. On Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. •- Howard • Thompson were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Murray—' Graham in Kincardine. Mrs. Howard Thom- pson visited with Mrs. Agnes Leeson in Elmira. on Saturday. • The. Ripley Senior Citizens Club held their Christmas banquet on Friday at noon. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson attended that function. Francis Van Rooyen visited over Saturday night and Sunday with Larry Reid. • Mrs. Mary Ellen Rim melzwaan ° attended her brother's, Mr. John Bloetje's, •wedding. in :Ingersoll on Friday. Ray and Sue Smith and children Lief and Cassa of Stratford and Dave and •Margie Collins of Kin- cardine visited. on, Sunday afternoon with Mr. and . Mrs. Burton Collins. Kelly and Kristi. McGillivray of Ripley enjoyed a weekend with their grandparents Burton and Katheryn Collins ' while , their . parents Ed, and Sandra • spent - the weekend in • Kitchener. Friends will .be glad .to know • Mrs. Mariha • Huston is recovering •nicely -from surgery and is spending some time With Mrs. Dorothy Collins Scott and Shea van den Hogan 'of Ripley visited with the MacDonald family on Friday. Apparently there were problems at the town well and pumping station that left- Ripley without water for the whole day. Frank Emerson spent the weekend with his grandmother Marion Emerson. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elliott visited for a few days last. week in Detroit with Earl's mother, Mrs. Peggy Elliott. Ian spent that time with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenwood in Ripley. Taking part in the concert were Larry • Reid and Robbie and Todd Thompson and Kelly McGillivray with Christmas• -y poems. Andrew Sheena and Stephani MacDonald, Joyce, Judy and Janet Lane, Jennifer, Angela Collins, Teresa and Tanya Farrell and Jean- Paul Greenwood who all sang songs. Helen Anne Needham performed a tap dance. The Van-Rooyan family presented a musical -rendition of Silent Night. Jennifer. Collins en- tertained the younger children with a Christ- mas- story and Bonnie, Kerry and Heather Doyle put hours of preparation into a shawdon puppet story, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Rooyan led in a carol sing that culminated with the arrival of the jolly old elf, Santa Claus himself. After the distribution of gifts and candy Santa • was sung nut to the tune of Jingle Bells and lunch was served. Lucknow EICW end year. with general eeting The general Meeting of Lucknow "U.C.W. Was held December 11 'commencing with dessert and coffee. The president, Mrs. L. Ritchie, opened the meeting with a Christmas poem. Mrs. Harv- ey Housten ptesided at the piano to accompany hymn singing. • . Mts. 'Ritchie. welcomed all and led in prayer: Jeff Ackert • favoured with an instrument- al on the piano. The meeting was turned over to the program cOmmit- tee convened by Mrs. Ernest •Ackert. The theme of the program was the Christmas wreath with each poinsetta ' • symbolizing Love; Life, Light, Hope; Joy, Guidance „and Salvation. These parts were taken by Mrs...G. Cayley, Mrs. c,.Da.vies,Mrs. Ken Houston and Mrs. G. • Walden. with Mrs: Wm.. Graham at the piano. Through the presentatien • Mrs. Ackert gave the story of t•he, birth of Jesus Christ. All • committee conveners reported a very busy but satisfactory year. The resignation of Mrs. Roy Havens as vice-president was accepted with regret. There were several recom- mendations accepted from the executive "at this meet- ing.
