The plight of students
Are Canadian students be-
ing bumped out of univer-
sities and colleges by foreign
students? Are Canadians
getting the education they
deserve? In my opinion, they
are being pushed out.
Foreign students have
been pouring into this coun-
try to receive a cheap educa-
tion at the expense of whom:
the taxpayer. Their enroll-
ment in schools has cut down
on the number of Canadians
elegible to further their edu-
cation. One hundred thous -

What has life given to me?
A home with shelter, food,
A country without war?
When death strikes one,
Who has loved and been loved
It leaves an ache so deep inside
We sometimes don't realize
Thatlove has been given
U.nitl suddenly, death takes it away
To live is to love
To hold that special feeling inside
That makes us feel secure and alive
Take a good look at someone you love,

and of them make up 30 per
cent of students in the
schools. Places which Canad-
ians could fill. The courses
mainly affected by the "ram-
page" are the computer
science, data processing, and
engineering. Only .10 per
cent go backto their home-
land to teach the skills they
acquired in. Canada. Who is
suffering?
A girl from St. Catharines
wanted to be a pharmacist
but because of the number of
foreign students she was not
accepted. She is no racist,
but Canadians should have
priority over foreigners in
Canada. Her dreams are
shattered. Others are going
to Europe to study.
The foreign students never
really socialize with the rest.
They never really give up ties
with their native homeland.
Most of them are able to
obtain landed visas with
which they can stay in
Canadafor five years; but
they can easily immigrate
with little problem. Should
this be allowed? They are
able to obtain jobs before
Canadians which increases
unemployment. Are 'we the
students, getting what edu-
cation we deserve?
