Madill we remembered those who gave their lives in battle, on Nov- ember 9th. The Master" of Ceremonies was Mr. R. P. Ritter, our principal. The service began with a hymn, entitled "Lest . We Forget", sung by the school choir. This was followed by the Advancing of the Col- ours. The Colour Party con- sisted of Sergeant -at -Arms, Dave Crothers; Flag bearers, Mr. Daves Hynes and Mr. Bert Morin; and the piper, Mr. Mac Armstrong. The . choir then sang, ' `Cantide of Praise". The Lord's Prayer was recited in unison. Mr. K. E. Wood read a piece from the scriptures. The Remembrance Day message was given by An- thony V. Sonderup, Rector of the Sacred Heart Parishes in. Wingham, St. Ambrose and Brussels. He mentioned that if we start with ourselves, and treat each other with respect, justice and freedom will spread to the world. We should rededicate ourselves- Rate urselves Rate exams at .Madill Exams are over and the question of the day is "What was our hardest exam?" The following are the results of a small survey, combining both four-year and ,.five-year courses. Of the grade nine's inter- viewed, 35 per cent thought Science 151 'to be ` their hardest exam. A further 17 per cent felt Business Prac- tice to be their hardest. In grade ten, Science 241 and History 241 led the vote, followed by Math 241 and Geography 251. The two most difficult exams of *he grade 11's interviewed were Physics 351 and Man in Society 301. The grade twelve results clearly showed Math 451 out in the lead of the difficult exams. Geography 451 and Chemistry 441 follow. Grade thirteen Family Studies was also recorded as difficult. And of course there are those who have little difficul- ty with exams and those who think all of the . exams are impossible to write. In conclusion, 32 per cent of all the people interviewed felt the various science cour- ses exams difficult. This was followed by different math exams. Presenta- tions were given by Ian Mann, Vice President of Student's Council and Mr. Clarence Ohm, who is Pres- ident of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 180; in Wing - ham. We then rose for the playing of the Last Post, by Doug Clark and Scott Mc- Kim, the minute of silence, and the Reveille. The well- known poem "In Flanders Fields", written by John McCrae, was read by Mr. W. Paul Elgie. The senior choir followed this with the singing of "One World", After the retiring of the colours, we rose to sing our national anthem, "0 Canada". BY DEB SJAARDA mons..
