Ripley dance raise $388

Mrs. Dorothy Wardell
reports that the variety
concert and dance held on
Fri.,, -Nov. 16 along with
donations raised a -net
amount of three hundred
and eighty-eight dollars
for the Woodstock Tor-
nado Relief Fund. The
concert was staged by
talent from a wide area
and everyone connected
with the event is to be
congratulated on its
success. It was held in the
HuronTownship Hall,
Ripley.
Mrs. Agnes Esther
Cerson passed away on
Sunday November 25,
1979 at Pinecrest Manor
Nursing Home in
Lucknow where she was a
patient. A few months
ago her husband the late
Wilfred Cerson of Bervie
and Ripley predeceased
her. She was born in
Greenock township on
August 12, 1892. The
funeral service was held
last Wednesday af-
ternoon at the
MacKenzie -McCreath
Funeral Home in Ripley
with Rev. Robert Clyde of
Bervie in charge,
followed by interment in
Kincardine Cemetery.,
Sympathy of •the area
people go to her family on
their bereavement. They
are daughter Helen, Mrs.
Allan rrwin of Ripley, and
two sons Alvin of Cam-
bridge, and Clarence of
Bervie and grand-
children.
Mrs. Mary Courtney of
Pine River passed away
last Tuesday November
27 in Kincardine and
District Hospital in her
80th year. She was the
wife of Harold Courtney
of Pine River and well
known Ripley grain
merchant. Surviving
beside her husband -is one
son Elmer of concession
10 west Huron township,
.grandchildren Lyn,
Elliott, Carmon, Gail,
Joan, Ann and great -
grandchildren, and one
brother Angus McLennan
of Toronto
To these sympathy is
extended at this time of
bereavement. The for-
mer Mary McLennan,
she yyas born in Huron
township on Maya, 1900.
She was predeceased by
two brothers Neil and
Donald McLennan of
Ripley. The funeral
service was held last
Thursday afternoon at
the MacKenzie McCreath
Funeral Home in Ripley
with Rev. Bob Putman of
Pine River in charge,
followed by interment in
Ripley Cemetery.
Leonard Irwin of
Ripley is a patient in
Kincardine and District
Hospital. It is reported
that Leonard was first
taken ill in MilcImay.He
spent a day in Walkerton
hospital and then tran-

sferred to Kincardine last
week. Ripley area folks
send along best wishes
and hope for his
recovery.

south part of Arizona -
north of the Mexican
border and far away from
this winter with its snow.

Kelly -of New Hamburg
visited last Sunday with
her parents Les and
Dorothy Wardell, con-
cession 4 in Huron
township,
