Former Langside man injured in car accident

Word has been received by
his family that Glenn Eng-
land, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald England, of near
Whitechurch, was injured in
a car -truck collision near
Washington on Sunday,
November 10. His passenger
in the car is also in serious
condition. They were taken
to a Washington Hospital
and a few days later transfer -
ed by ambulance to a Van-
couver, B.C. hospital
where they both live. Glenn
has a broken leg, arm and
nose, as well as face lacera-
tions and other injuries. His
mother, Mrs. Donald Eng-
land, lately returned home
after being in London Hospit-
al and is feeling much better.
We hope to hear better news
of Glenn's condition before
long. Mr. and Mrs. Donald
England and family lived at
Langside for a few years on
the farm now owned by Jon
Top.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
Young visited Sunday even-
ing with his sister, Mrs. May
Richardson and also with Mr.
and Mrs. Wallace Richard-
son, all of Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Scott
spent the weekend visiting
with friends near Missis-
sauga.
Mrs. Don Wall and baby
son, Jason Lee, returned
home from Wingham Hos-
pital last week.
Mr. and Mrs.. Len Cough-
lin and girls entertained
friends from Hamilton on
Sunday.
Langside bowlers who
bowl in the Teeswater mixed
league in Wingham are
doing well this year again.

weeks in London hospital.

ing was held. at Mrs. Donald
Maclntyre's . on Monday
night.. The ladies also learn-
ed how to macrame • their
hangers for their plants.

and Mrs, Clarence Allan and
family were Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Nattress of Islington and
Mr. Andy Mashinter of Ac-
ton.
Mrs. Alice Doelman and
Mrs. Shirley Stanley were
two of the ten from. Bruce
County to attend the 4-1-1
leaders provincial conference
held at the Holiday Inn for
three days. The ladies really
enjoyed themselves and got
to see many different things
and points of interest, includ-
ing the Royal Winter Fair.

On Saturday evening, November 3, Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Jamiesoncelebrated the 60th anniversary of
their wedding which took place at the home of the
bride's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel McInnes,
Langside, Ontario, on December 24, 1919. '
Approximately 225 friends and relatives attended
this special celebration held at the Canadian Legion
Hall in Goderich. O5en House commenced at 7 p.m.,
followed by a reception for family and relatives.
Grandchildren assisted in greeting the guests at the
door, and in serving refreshments.
Mayor Harry Worsell brought greetings from the
Town of Goderich, and a plaque from the Province of
Ontario was presented by Jack Riddell, M.P.P.
The head table was lovely with floral arrangements,
candles and .a three -tiered wedding cake made by
Mrs. Jamieson's niece, Mrs. Dan Tiffin of Wingham.
Johnny McInnes of Wingham was Master of
Ceremonies and brought greetings to the couple. A
short program and dancing was followed by a boun-
tiful lunch.
Guests were present from Mississauga, Oshawa,
London, Ingersoll, Woodstock, Wiarton, Kitchener,
Walkerton, Lucknow, Wingham, Kincardine,
Teeswater and other points.
Mr. and Mrs. Jamieson havefamily of two, Mrs.
John (Isabelle) Splan of Woodstock and Stuart of
Wiarton. There are eight grandchildren, and nine
great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs, Jamieson were the recipients`of many
beautiful' flowers, gifts and cards.
Mr. Jamieson acts as a crossing -guard for the public
school children of Goderich.
