The Anglican Church •Women • met on 'Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Howard Thompson. in Ripley. Mrs. Delbert Hedley pres- ided and opened the meeting with a poem and prayer followed. Mrs. Bert Nichol- son read the scripture and Miss Edna Boyle gave the meditation. Mrs. Ronald Thacker read the- minutes and the correspondence. The program was in keep - Edna Boyle, centre, recelved a life membership pin for her 36 years of • service in the Holyrood Women's Institute at the institute's falai bight on Friday evening. The tables. were most attractive with fall table centres. Mrs. Alex Percy extended a welconie and grace was sung and everyone enjoyed.a bountiful smorgasbord meal, This was follOwed by a variety program in the audi7 torium. A sing song was led by MissMay &ode. Susan. Meyer favoured with two piano numbers. Mrs. Harold • Smith; who was chairlady. conducted contests and gave humorous readings, n Karen Medley and Heather Smith sang twdsongs playing their own guitar accompaniment. • Mrs. Frank Maulden gave a •humorous reading. Then came the fashion show which -gave everyone a tot of. latighS. A piano so!o by • Marlene Murray followed. The young folks took mirt in a "Bubhle Gum" contest and " •received pri?es.
