Entertains at dinner

Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Maulden and Keith on
Tuesday were Jack Webster
of Edmonton, Orland Rich-
ards of Lucknow and Mr. and
Mrs. Oliver McCharles of
Lochalsh.
Ladies from the Presbyter-
ian W.M.S. attended the
Thankoffering meeting at
Whitechurch on Wednesday
afternoon.
Margaret Murray enter-
tained relatives and friends
at a dinner on Thursday.
Sympathy is extended to
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Green,
formerly of concession 10, in
the death of Thelma's broth-
er. They attended the funeral
at Peterborough on Friday.
The many friends of Mrs.
Dorothy Thompson were
pleased to learn that she was
able to return home with Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Graham on
Sunday, after undergoing
surgery at Victoria Hospital,
London. Mrs. Mary Ecken-
miller also accompanied'
them home, and is visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Cassidy at Teeswater.
KINLOUGH W.M.S.
The Kinlough Presbyter-
ian W.M.S. held their Fall
Thankoffering meeting on
Tuesday afternoon at the
church with guests from
Teeswater, Whitechurch and
the Kinlough Anglican
Church Women.
Mrs. Jack Barr presided
and opened with a poem,
"The Road". Three scripture
readings were given by Miss
Winnifred Percy, Mrs, Don
Reid, and Mrs. Tom McDon-
ald.
Mrs. Glen Haldenby gave
the meditation, "Four
Roads" and prayer. Mrs.
Frank Maulden read the min-
utes. The offering was re-
ceived by Mrs, Don Bushell
and Mrs, Don McEwan and
the prayer given by Mrs. Don
Reid, Mrs. Alex Percy gave a
reading, "Thank God for
home".
Mrs. Frank Maulden in-
troduced the speaker, Mrs.
G. Thompson, who
talked on "the child", this
being the International Year
of the Child. Mrs. Glen
Haldenby thanked Mrs.
Thompson for her splendid
talk.
Mrs. William MacPherson
favoured with a musical
number and was organist for
the meeting. All enjoyed a
pleasant afternoon of fellow-
ship and, each expressed
thanks to the W.M.S. ladies.
Sympathy is extended to
Mrs. Eric Thacker in the
death of her grandfather, the
late Alex MacKenzie. The
funeral was on Monday at
Kincardine.
Mrs. Marretta Hodgins
spent a few days at her home
here, and went to the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Hodgins at Niagara for the
weekend. She was returning
to Detroit to be with her
sister, Mrs. Peggy Elliott,
who had major surgery rec-
ently.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr
visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Gary Fair at Kit-
chener.
Mr. and Mrs,, Don Bert-
rand and children of Simcoe
visited with her brothers, Bill
arid Brian and Percy and took
Miss Winnifred Percy home
for .a visit at Simcoe.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brooks,
Bevin and Bradley of Listow-
el visited on Sunday with
Mrs. John Barr.
Mrs. George Graham at-
tended the baptism of her
great niece, Meghan Hewitt
at Fergus on Sunday of last
week.
• Mrs. George Graham is a
patient in Kincardine Hos-
pital where she underwent
surgery on Monday evening.

health.

birth of a baby boy, Ben-
jamin, in Wingham Hospital
last Wednesday:
Mrs. Robert Wynne of
Kitchener is a patient in the
hospital there, after suffer-
ing a heart attack. She is
coming along well and hopes
to be home again soon.

Coughlin and Lydia of Scar-
ily.

Ferguson spent the weekend
