South Kinloss couple have new son

and Mrs. Don Nickel on the
arrival of their son, Tyler,
who was born last Wednes-
day, October 3rd.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ander-
son, Mr. and Mrs. Peter

Mr. Frank Cleave and Mrs.
Donna Ball, all of Sarnia.
A Thanksgiving and com-
munion service for both
Lucknow and South Kinloss
congregations was held at
South Kinloss church on Sun-
day.

MARY [HOWE] BUTTON
Mary Alberta Howe But-
ton, Lucknow, died at the age
of 90 in Wingham and
District Hospital on Sunday,
September 30, 1979.
Born in Quebec, Howick
Township on October 22,
1888, she was the daughter.
of the late John J. Howe 'and
the late Mary Kerr, .both of
Quebec, Howick Township.
In December of 1910 she
married. Robert James But-
ton of Teeswater.
She 'is survived by three
sons, Harold of Dundas,
John of Kinloss and Russel of
Kinloss and one daughter,
Margaret, Mrs. Alex Mac -
Nay of Lucknow. Twenty-two
grandchildren and 32 great
grandchildren survive.
Five sistersalso survive,
Margaret Tully of Leaming-
ton, Elizabeth Shreader of
Amherstburg, Beth Lakin of
St. Petersburg, Florida,
Anne Sisson of St. Peters-
burg,, Florida and Ethel Shaw
of Windsor.
She was predeceased by
her husband; two sons, Ern-
est of Blyth and William of
Lucknow; one grandson,
Gordon MacNay of Lucknow;
a brother, Wallace Howe of
Teeswater and a sister, J!s-
sie. Howe of Teeswater.
The funeral service was
conducted by Rev. Douglas
Kaufman of Lucknow United
Church from the MacKenzie
and McCreath Funeral Home
at 2 p.m. on Tuesday,
October 2.
Pallbearers were her
grandsons, Donald MacNay
of Toronto; Jack Button of
Windsor; ,Fred Button . of
Dundas; Dave ' Button of
Lucknow; Steven Button of'
Kitchener and Murray But-
ton of Kitchener.
Burial followed in Green.

MARY BELLE MACTAVISH
Mrs. Allan MacTavish,
formerly of Josephine Street,
Wingham., passed away Sat-
urday, September 22, at
Huronview, Clinton, in her
88th year:
Mrs. MacTavish was the
former Mary Belle Elliott and
was born in Turnberry Town-
ship on January 31, 1892.
Her parents" were the late. ;,
James Elliott and Jane Lout -
it. She married Mr. MacTav-
ish in Turnberry on October
24, 1912, and he predeceased.
her on April 23, 1945. She
was also predeceased by two
sons, Gordon and Harold;
one grandson; one grand-
daughter; one sister, Mrs.
Albert (Tena) Walters; and
three brothers, Gordon, Jam-
es and Albert Elliott.
She is survived by one son
Cameron MacTavish of
Wingham; six grandchildren
and five great grandchildren.
The late Mrs. MacTavish
rested' at the Currie -Walker
Funeral Home, Wingham,
where service was conducted
Tuesday, September 25, at
two o'clock by Rev. Dr.
Robert H. Armstrong of St.
Andrew's Presbyterian
Churcj where deceased was a
member. Interment followed
in Wroxeter Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob Mc-
Kague, Waiter Elliott, Har-
old Elliott, ; Don Reid, Elmer
Wilkinson and Gordon Walk-
er. Floral tributes were car-
ried by two grandsons, Stev-
en and Brian MacTavish.

Janet's parents and brother; -
Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson
and John, all of Toronto were
Thanksgiving dinner guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie

were Thanksgiving dinner
guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Steer,. Tracy and Hea-
ther of Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Mc-
Quillin spent Thanksgiving
with Mr. and. Mrs. Doug
MacLeod and Dawn in Van-
astra.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nick-
el of Weston 'visited on the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Don Nickel and Shauna.
Sunday evening visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Dick
McQuillin were Mr. and
Mrs. Wilford Gagnon. of
Oakville and Harvey.. McQuii
%lin of St. Catharines. Harvey
and two other men were
going fishing when a mishap
occurred with their .motor
boat up at Sault Ste. Marie
last week, This caused facial
lacerations and Harvey was
hospitalized for two days,
however he is fine now.
Weekend visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Buchmeier and
Carol were Mr. and Mrs.
Norm LeClaire, Donna and
Tammy of Toronto, and Mr.
and Mrs. Ron MacGilivray

Brian and Marlene and fam-
ily spent the weekend here.
We are sorry to have the
Welsh family leave the com-
munity ' but we welcome the
Wolfe family to our neigh-
bourhood.
An enjoyable time was
held at Holyrood Hall on
Friday night for Mr. and
Mrs. Ted Collyer, now of
Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hous-
ton, Amy and Angela were

Mr. and Mrs, Harvey Hous-
ton of Lucknow.

DEATH
The community is sadden-
ed to learn of the death of
Henry Kragt, 21, who lost his
life as i tesult of a fall in a
construction accident. in Sur-
rey, B.C. on . Wednesday,
October 3, 1979. He was the
eldest son of Henk and Pietie
Kragt (de Boer), formerly of
the 'Langside area, and
grandson of Mrs. Symon de
Boer, Lucknow.
The funeral was held in.
Surrey, B.C. on Saturday,
October 6 in the United
Church.
